After all, that is not without reason! Whom did Comrade Toscanini conduct? A long list! But Scriabin! That is not without reason!

A front row seat art Woolsey Hall, Yale University, by default due to my near-back row seat being engaged to 'recording eqpt. and deep wires, 1989. Ravi didn't play this piece or its intangible beginnings, but he did amaze with a solo tabla rhythmist. Captivated the Hindii overcome by joy and felicity in the packed House. He raised the roof of Krishna Magic.

Best recording of the Estancia Suite by far! A pity that the CSO and Ozawa didn’t make a studio recording of this score for RCA back in the day.

hi, will you be uploading the other two movements? I only have an old mono recording of this and would love to have the stereo version. One of my favorite Rozsa concert works.

I attended the first performance of the Mahler 3rd given by the CSO with Martinon conducting. It was really first rate and received a generous ovation at the conclusion.

Manfred is less frequently performed in concert. This is due to its length, unfamiliarity, and its requirement for a large orchestra, including obbligato organ. It is also considered to be a virtuoso work and difficult to play well.

Sorry, but this Sympony Concertante has been wrongly credited to Miloslav Kabalec. It has in fact been composed by Jan Hanus. I realized this when I listened to the Symphonic Concertante of Jan Hanus uploaded by two other poeple on KZbin and afterwards, listening to this Kabelec upload, I realized it is the exact same piece as the one uploaded under the name of Jan Hanus. When you check the cover of the record from which this audio was uploaded, as shown in this audio/video under Kabelac's name, it show 2 pieces by Kabelac on the record and then the Symphonic Concertante under the name of Jan Hanus. Anyway, it remains a magnificent piece of music that really should be heard more often. Thanks for this excelent upload!

Thanks to Rob Cowan on bbc3 i discovered today miloslav kabelac. First his mystery of time and now his symphonic concertante. Both pieces merit more listenings.

Composer and great conductor Jean Martinon hast called his important early work "Hymne a la Vie" - 1944 in the year of the French liberation - - - , in this record played by the wonderful Chicago SO.- Thank you very much for posting - on 01/11/14 - the day of "We are Charlie".-Hymne a la vie... ...,

Sinfonie (Videomitschnitt -!- des Japan New Philharmonic Orchestra).

Shame about the cuts, but ehm.... why does he tack the coda of the first movement at the end of the fourth? It takes away a lot of the anguish that is so central in the finale. I've heard Temirkanov doing this too, but I didn't know Svetlanov preceded him in this. The only reason why I can imagine one should do this is for effect, and I'd imagined Svetlanov to know better. Shame.
@brianhadfield75127 жыл бұрын
Also Alexander Lazerev and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic did this cut version in a live concert on the evening of the Herold of Free enterprise boat disaster, but he took over at short notice from Temirkanov which in all probability was the version already prepared, as subsequently Lazarus performed it as Tchaikovsky wrote it. Even so on this particular occasion it seemed curiously appropriate.
