So I missed the live and cried because I was sooo looking forward to joining, (even had an explanation mark next to it on my calendar), but busy caring for my Dad, which makes me happy. However, I'm so happy to have watched this tonight and look forward to more conversations about practicing boundries!!

You've been hanging out in my head too much lately. I needed a pep talk today and here you are. Today my feelings are yucky and sadly valid. But I'm reaching out for help. That's the best I can do today.

I am wanting to take leave of absence from my studies just 1 semester to finish my undergraduate degree. I just don’t trust myself to continue right now. I want to take a pause and nothing. Then come back and finish what I started. There’s no one way to do life and I am choosing a way that brings me closer to peace of mind. I would share so much more but I don’t want to justify this decision. We are human beings 1st and then human doers. Thanks for sharing this content still very relevant in 2022.

"There's no one way to do life" THIS IS TRUTH! I'm glad you found the video helpful, and I'm glad you've identified a path forward that feels right for you. Things are SO challenging in the world right now, and if you've also got personal stuff going on, a one semester break may provide a respite that will allow you to resume your studies and move on to the next thing with a renewed spirit. GOOD LUCK WITH IT ALL!

Good one Paul. Indeed all those little things take attention, time, energy, etc. We can only pay attention to so many things. Breathe. Shut off things. Relax. Breathe again. I think our sense of flubbity is running wild these days. We all need to lean on others, center ourselves, breathe.... and then refresh and get back at it. It being perhaps fewer things.

if college is for learning how to learn, what is the 13 years of school from kindergarten - 12th grade for?

I also pass your words on to college students, and am so grateful for this video right now! I just spoke with a young person also to a degree torn between their gayness and their godness, and that phrase alone will really help them...thank you not only for all the work you do, but for helping many of us help others as well! I wish I had been there for you that long-ago October, but trust that the work you have done since then has helped me be there for others. <3

Paul I heard you speak many years ago in Florida and you soooooo helped me by your words, experiences and willingness to share of yourself. I enjoy your weekly Ripples and pass them on to the college students that I work with. YOU ARE A LIGHT! And you are doing great work in the world. Good job. Much love and blessing to you.

I hear you, Benny...and I'm sorry you're struggling right now. I've talked to so many students share similar sentiments...I'd encourage you to explore options with a college staff person...counseling center, advising office, or really any staff or faculty you've connected with. Tell them what you're thinking/feeling, and see if there are options or resources to help you figure out a good path forward. Hope this helps. -PW

Wow you nailed the scheme of my mind Its just I admit that I am a very slow person I need to digest what I learned in my own pace. But my goal is to finish College without BS’ing anything. And taking a break will hopefully do that. I will check again. :)
@laura796132 жыл бұрын
I'm the same, I feel like I've learnt a lot but not properly applied any of the information. So I'm considering taking a break to just go through all that content at my own pace.
@gwentan84762 жыл бұрын
@@laura79613 did you took a break?
@laura796132 жыл бұрын
@@gwentan8476 Yes I did. It was really good for me. I got time to think and organise my mind and I was able to come back to school refreshed and with a bit more direction. If you need the time to slow down and think, and it's been gnawing at your conscience for a while now, I recommend that you just do it. Think of yourself a year or 2 years from now, if you feel the break will benefit you then go ahead and take it. But it was only a semester-long break, so just a few months. If my school only had the option of taking a year-long break I wouldn't have done it😂 because even if I needed time, a year is too long and I would be afraid I'd be behind in my studies.

I'm sorry to hear that you're in a situation where you might want to take a break but the costs of taking the break might be too high to be worth it. HANG IN THERE! I would encourage you to use the resources on your campus, including the counseling center and/or learning services. Let them know you're struggling and see if they can provide some ideas and strategies to support you. Sending you good vibes. -PW
