Why did the driver give you the finger? usually cars in Mallorca are pretty respectful
@global_ragnarАй бұрын
No idea, I noticed the attitude towards cyclists had changed and drivers were honking and pointing to cyclists especially when riding on big groups. It wasn’t like that before Covid. I think many of them were actually tourists and not locals though
@stevedouglas397526 күн бұрын
@@global_ragnar I've been over to Mallorca 5 times cycling and vast majority of drivers are fine. Given huge amount of cyclists on roads there it's no surprise there is some annoyed mototirsts but nowhere near as bad as some countries. I live in UK and far worse here!

@@stevedouglas3975 Hi Steve, Me too, been in Mallorca many times before. I think people start to be fed up because of cyclists are just all over the road and some groups are really big, like 30-50 riders, so over taking is a bit hard... I live in West London and nowadays consider when I'm going out as specially during rush hour it's better to stay on turbo or pub... 😅

I am searching all over the internet for things to do with cycling as I am now signed up to take part in a 350km ride for charity in India next year. I haven't ridden a bike in years. This video has given me an idea of what I need to do for 'climate training' and getting my bike there. Perfect. Thankyou.

Nice video! The tough race is due to the competitive spirit of the athletes. in reality that is a very light stretch of Lake Como. the most difficult part is in the Lecco - Bellagio - Como stretch. the complete tour of the lake is approximately 160km and 1100 d+ Cheers from Como.

You and I are on the same plane. I had to give up my normal TTT spot as I wasn't feeling good, still recovering from the flu myself. I ended up riding it the night before Chapmans with TunaTornado and Jettro. I was feeling good for this race but then the legs weren't there as I watched you ride on by. Alex and I had planned on riding together from the start and he stuck with me. That motivation kept me in it and gave me a little push to crawl back to you. I tried your power over the top trick on the last hill but I didn't have enough in me to push the entire descent. I put in a sprint at the end and just came up short. Til next week Mate, maybe by then we will have caught our breath!
@global_ragnarАй бұрын
Cheers mate. I saw you every now and then on the first hill. Thought I will not catch you but just kept going. I thought I got a good gap between you and I and came off the bike to do a little trade mark dance 🕺😂 then suddenly you were there and I really needed to push! Thanks for making it so hard… 😂 great race though. Till next time

I thought I could pull away from you on the last climb but you kept creeping closer. Then on that last kicker you ramped to 8.0w/kg just before the downhill and sped away. I waited as long as I could to get to the final flat to make a push but it wasn't enough. Nice ride Ragnar! Congrats on the finish. SR-71

Thanks mate, thank you for motivating and pushing me! I did the race recce in the morning and thought I need to accelerate over the top of climbs and then effectively free wheel downhill. It seemed to be working well. As after first climb I was 43/45… Tbh. I was so happy when I saw you, Colin and some others as thought I might have a chance here to overtake and for once… and I did. Little I knew I was also suffering of flue as my now I have fever and sore throat Hope it’s not Covid. 🤔

Awesome work there Ragnar. Has to be classed as the best indoor training days when we do these TTT. Bringing people together from all over the world. I'm rebel72 and was in one of the other teams "Bullet Train" and we all had a great time. Course indeed was a pure TT course.

Great job Ragnar. You should have mentioned all five of us were above 90kg riders..Team Clydesdales. lol. Sorry you had issues with the discord, worked well for the rest of us. Definitely a must have for you too. We shuffled things a little along the way, of course you couldn't hear any of those. But overall, our target time was 28:30; we were 20 seconds faster than and we still have room to improve. I think we could have gone sub-28 minutes today. April TTT will be much better.

Thanks for the shout out, wish I would have heard it in person, might have given me a kick in the ass to get going. Things just weren't working for me today. I ended up in the front group at the start and stayed there way too long. Worst part was that I didn't adapt to the new drafting well. I couldn't figure how to stay in the back of the pack and got spit out the back. Then I was solo for quite a while and that just killed me. I didn't even see you go by, your group was flying and I couldn't react to grab a wheel. You pulled out a hell of a finishing sprint, strong legs you got!!!
@global_ragnar3 ай бұрын
I was surprised how fast it started and how far ahead the front group got as in real world on flat course w/kg don't matter that much. Half way through I was wondering where you were and super happy to see you, sorry you didn't tag on. Well done, It was hard.The new drafting effect is good and more realistic, but the down side is, I was mostly looking at the graph and not where I was going... :D Overall really happy as past so many on the last km. I'll try to join on Friday and Sunday. Fingers crossed

Great race Ragnar. Different tactics in play when you do these pan flat routes, especially when they start with a downhill like today. We launched big watts at the start, just to be with the powerhouse names, and with the new pack drafting algorithm in play, we managed to stay there. You weren't too far behind but just too many people in a small windows, never saw you. Keep in mind Trek Domane is available for free until the end of April. Little more aero than the Rouvy bike, definitely use that one on next one. Also see you on the team time trial on Friday.

Thank you for the tip! I'll get the Madone... and beat you... :D NOOOOT. It was definitely hard from start till finish. The drafting in the middle worked for me, but on down side that is all you look and not the city or other riders as you should. Well done and hope to see you next time
