How much isopropyl do u put in the mix of modge and water that u spray on?? I just did like idk 1/20th or less I’d guess. Worked fine except like 5 times surface tension on a spray would bead up and not sink nice Does that mean add more? I’m assuming
@MartinWelbergScenicStudios6 ай бұрын
Hi Matthew, please don't add isopropanol to the modgepodge mix. I spray it on the surface before adding the scenic mix. 1 to 3 parts water will do the trick.

This series is amazing I’ve been wanting to make a model train scene in n scale, haven’t had trains since I was a kid, and this series has me so excited to do the scenery that I’m actually gonna start practicing the scenery long before I even get the train. Even gonna make little scenes for my 1/64 scale cars. There are other demos for different things that I found super useful but this series especially for the foliage and dirt/ground is the best

3 years old and I still keep coming back for your wonderful pointers...and the description of the "bush code". Just got lots of new MW products and forgot lots I had learned. Thanks again!

I thought the foam's texture would be made more use of than simple void fill - maybe soaked in a plaster and water mix and left to harden, or sprinkled with grout or filler powder and sprayed with wet water. I'd have used it for flock, and used broken polystyrene packaging, crumpled newspaper or tin foil instead.

Hi, This is the first time I have viewed your video and found it very helpful. One suggestion is to eliminate the music. It is loud enough to be distracting. You are far more interesting. Maybe use it only for the intro and ending? I completely agree with your technique about using layers and blending. One problem I have with dry brushing is that you have to load up the brush first then wipe away most of the paint for it to be used. That initial loading uses up a lot of paint. Do you have any recommendations on how to minimize the paint loss before its application? Maybe I'm using a wrong brush? I hope that makes sense. Thank you for posting this video!

You technic has great sucess...looks very real, impressive. As you mentioned texures are important, which draws attention and creates amazing scuptured scenery for the surrounding landscape in realistic terms. Spot on!

Nice job and great effects. I have used water color pencils on my rolling stock for my model railroad, but hadn't thought of using it on buildings, thanks for the idea. Terry

Seems VERY REDUNDANT ?? Painting the Ground cover Over and Over with basically the SAME colors ?? Then DRY brushing it , And AGAIN Painting over ALL that you Just Did ? Weird , in my opinion . I just paint , texture then paint wash it ONCE then lightly dry brush ! All Done and looks AMAZINGLY Awesome : ) Cheers
