The problem with CC (and all the compilation stuff) is that it story is not subtle and dramatic like the original FF7 was. I mean all the Zack stuff when he is saying goodbye to cloud, leaving legacy, Aerith feeling his death... In FF7 it was more accurate : an unfair and brutal death with no final words, Aeris was just a flirt for him and he is forgotten. I was so sad for him when i saw the hidden scene in the Shinra mansion.

The most heartbreaking thing is the fact that Cloud DID see how Zack was protecting him for the past 10 months. By all accounts Cloud should've been a vegetable forever but Zack saved him anyway. Then what happens? He forgets his last words then he's conscious. Daw.

Personally I think Crisis Core isn't that great. I just couldn't get into it like I did with FFVII (even though I have replayed it several times). The Angeal/Genesis story is just plain and I was waiting for Nibelheim incident so much which turn out to be a let down (it's lack of narrative and inconsistency to the original story). Zack is an interesting character, but I "get" to play only him. If I could play other character as well, maybe the game would become more enjoyable. Over all, I rather replay FFVII (again) and watch Crisis Core cutscenes on youtube (for the relative events). That would be a better time investment.
