The patterned double breasted badly proportioned jacket he is wearing looks out of place and pretty stupid to me, more like an ostentatious clown costume.

Amazing video! This suit is beautiful! Correct me if I’m wrong, are the sleeves too long? Are they not supposed to be a little shorter than the shirt sleeves?

I really feel that this advertisement was sloppy when it comes to the ties, which seem hastily knotted, and some are not even paired with the right shirt collar! I find it unfortunate for a brand that holds such a prestigious position in English elegance😢
@teakcore52612 ай бұрын
To be frank i disagree, the ties have a slim knot and seem to be paired with english spread collar shirts, which is a very elegant combination. The slim knot with spread collar is very fitting for structured tailoring, and Huntsman are the masters at that!

I’m so shy that this level of personal attention would make me melt down into an awkward puddle. But this is what true wealth is. They don’t buy tacky designer clothes with labels all over. Their clothing is more subtle, but impeccably tailored and will last for a good while. It’s one thing to say “I bought it at INSERT DESIGNER”. It’s another thing to say “I had this custom made to my specifications.”

I started going to Huntsman because Campbell Carey, the head cutter at Huntsman, used to be my cutter at Kilgour (now closed). However, I realized soon that the quality of the tailoring was not as good. I used to visit him on his trip to New York, where Huntsman has a permanent presence, but was surprised that adjustments in the garments that were supposed to be made from the last fitting were not done. My pattern was so messed up that they had to do two of my jackets again and still really messed up. I have come to the conclusion that since they started sending their garments for cheaper tailoring in India or China that the quality went down. They are mostly about bulk tailoring now. The alternative is to consider Anderson and Sheppard. They have done the majority of my suits and jackets and do a top notch job. Mr. Danny Hall is the head cutter and is great at his craft. The 3 things to consider in a bespoke garment is Comfort, Cut and Fit and Anderson and Sheppard are the best at all three. Henry Poole is another great option. My cutter, Mr Daniel McDonald, is very good with his work and has done amazing garments for me. The jacket is very comfortable and fits well. You won't go wrong with them.

It's undeniable that Huntsman has cultivated an exceptional reputation over the years, celebrating bespoke craftsmanship and a unique lifestyle. However, there are some growing concerns that can't be ignored. The brand's commitment to quality and elegance has been overshadowed by reports of questionable management practices, such as a lack of discernment in decision-making and allegations of sexism. A vertically managed structure might hinder the ability to address these issues effectively. It's crucial for Huntsman to take these concerns seriously to ensure its legacy isn't tarnished. After all, true excellence goes beyond just material offerings; it extends to the ethical and respectful treatment of staff and the broader community. It's my hope that Huntsman will take a more inclusive and considerate path moving forward.

I had the privilege to meet Gregory Peck, who was not only an excellent actor but also a gentleman. He was everything I thought he would be, gracious, patient, gallant and so intelligent. He resembled my father physically & my father would share Gregory Peck's movies with me as a child and teenager. Not everyone has a movie star as a father or grandfather, but I was blessed with a father that had the same qualities of integrity, love and so many more virtues. I think of him every day. Thank you.

*I MAKE BESPOKE* historical suite 1890 to 1930 and I mostly work with vintage cloth, its compleatly different to modern cloth. The old cast iron mechanical looms smashed the threads together so hard they formed a totally different cloth, it lays over your hand with the most wonderful drape and weight.

*SEVERAL PEOPLE* have told me that since Huntsman has been taken over by Pierre Lagrange the quality has gone down dramatically and they have gone to Henry Pool, kent haste & lachter, etc Yeah - 80 hours - most bespoke suits take 100 to 120 or so hours so they have cut or automated a lot of the work

1:44 sorry, but who dressed this fellow. As a chap with a belly myself I know that those trousers and shirt are terrible fits for a big guy. Natural waist pleated trousers cut for braces and a shirt that fits. Just look at the bunching of the sleeves at the cuffs, look how his belly hangs over his waistband. This is a promotional video put out by a Savile Row tailor, what the heck?

1:28 “the evening jacket final fitting” oh Huntsman, what are you doing mates? How is that evening wear? It’s a notched lapel charcoal suit with flap pockets! And what is an evening jacket? Are they saying it’s a dinner jacket, because it’s clearly not, it’s also not a dinner suit. This is a bit of a mess to be honest
