@cal22583 I have the samsung syncmaster 2693 hm and it started to flicker for a long time before it would stop flickering and then it started to not start up at all until apx 5 minutes then apx 20 minutes then apx 30 minutes before it started to flicker and today it stopped starting up altogether ... I noticed that you had a puffed and leaking cap that was your problem in this video and I was wondering if you ever tried to wait to see if it would power up with time? also would the 2200uf 10 volt work in my 26 inch model as it did in your 24 inch model? thanks in advance and mostly thanks for making this awesome helpful video.

This mobo like a stone dude. It can only run 95W in theory, but fucking handles 140W cpu! I have the same CPU and same mobo, unlocked 4 cores and works good!

It's 2021 and my 2006? monitor stopped working but thought the power of youtube it might live again. My capacitor looks ina worse state than this one..

Quick Update - just followed the instructions, and monitor is working like a treat, all for £2.50 and a bit of my time. Really appreciate it :-)

For me, these expensive "disposable" cameras work great when brand new, but around the 1 year mark, they must be replaced. I have returned 4 of these to Panasonic under warranty. #5 is over a year old, and shows bright, blarring light under any conditions, so it looks like I am pointed at the sun in every shot. I cannot find any firmware or software updates on their website for this model, so now what to do, it's a paperweight?

I just did this repair as described in the video. The capacitor didn't look faulty at all but I replaced it anyway...and now I have a working monitor for a $1 repair. Thanks for posting.

The part where the audio drops hugely, about the capacitor, he says it is a 3300UF, 105Celsius rated, 16Volt item. The original capacitor in the set was 10 volt, but his local store only had 16, so that's what he used. He also notes that the longer wire is the positive side, and the shorter wire is the negative side of the new capacitor.

Cool stuff, I wonder if it would fix mine, not sure if it's the same culprit. Mine is almost same version, SyncMaster 2494HM 24" (or 25" not sure), it actually turns on, for about 2 seconds, very dark screen light intensity, then shuts down, I can repeat this as many times as I like by turning on and off.

I also managed to fix my 2493HM screen, using a 25V 2200uF capacitor. Unfortunately, I believe i broke my lcd screen during the repair.. :-( Thanks a lot for the guide though, very informative! Also, the reply from Jerzy is really useful --> "LCD Slave cable you squeeze those clips ;-) "

I see your CPU Temp is at 130C during record. I get like 80C for just browsing the internet and I am freaking out. My fanmod Brix Pro i7 4770R average 45-50C during browsing. When I play/export videos they jump to 80-90C

If you don't see an obviously damaged capacitor, measure the three 68 ohm resistors. They are known to be also a weak point of the power supply board (at least the BN44-00173A)

Hi a little on the late side but, I have a SyncMaster 2493HM with a flashing blue power led only with no picture, and I see no bulged or leaking capacitors, I also checked the backside of the print for any cracks in the soldering..There are no issues of that either?
