If the crappies are over populated, it would do the lake good to keep those fish. We had a similar situation here in Iowa. The DNR told us to keep the smaller ones. In two years we seen a difference by doing so. We caught bigger fish consistently this year.

Enjoyed your video!! You gave me some very useful tips on using LiveScope. I recently dove big time into the most current Garmin LiveScope Plus System with Perspective Mode. I use an adjustable stowaway mount to hold a (12") 126 SV Monitor, that uses a LVS 34 Transducer, attached to a Sniper Marine 360 Degree Sniper Pro Gen2 over the side shaft. I can't stand for long periods and fish sitting down. I found the larger the Monitor the better I could see what was happening. I also have a (10") 106SV Monitor mounted at the helm that is attached to a GT56 UHD (Side / Clear View) Transducer. Both monitors are boned together so I can split screen and view both screens at the same time. I tried several different LiveScope Transducer mounting systems, (trolling motor shaft mount and commercial mounted shafts like the one you were using in the video, etc.). Non allowed me the ability to keep my lures on target with such ease when the boat drifts than the Sniper Pro has done! Using both systems at the same while trolling the lakes gives an unbelievable view of what lies beneath the water. The fish can't hide, so now you are both a hunter and fisherman. Now I use the bait & lures the fish I see should eat and let the games begin.

To turret or not to turret and put live scope on motor. I fish for bass mostly, but I definitely will use spot lock when I find a spot. But spot lock takes away usefulness of livescope. Anyone have a good workaround with livescope mounted on trolling motor? Looking to upgrade electronics soon is why I ask.
@Dangle_Nation11 күн бұрын
My personal opinion is not to turret. Simply because of the style of fishing we do. With spot locks radius (the natural drift) and the desire to stay locked in I prefer being able to stay on the pile. However I can see how in bass fishing it being on the turret would help. You can ID an LMB and cast to it then scan around or focus on whatever technique you are fishing. That and turrets are to slow for me, I like to snap around Its a tough question to say the least lol

Great video my question is when a fish like a white bass leave the screen can you tell if they are going left or right or even under the boat? Good job 👍🏻
@Dangle_Nation13 күн бұрын
Thank you! And yes absolutely! So as the fish leave if they are going away from your boat they will be traveling to the right on the screen. If they are approaching you or going behind you they will be going to the left on the screen. The screen also shows 5 feet BEHIND the transducer in most cases. In this instance as the fish go behind the boat the will appear in this 5 ft area. BEHIND the zero on the screen.

Your absolutely right because what F. F. S. Has done is put thousands more fishing persons on the water fishing for crappie which is good. I’m one of those people. So therefore I also believe they need to lower the limit. There’s plenty of other pan fish to make up the difference for those fisher persons who fill the need to fill up a freezer solely dedicated for fish.

Cheating or not, I just got it and I love it! As far as keeping the crappie you catch with it? I'm keeping some, simply because I was horrible at catching crappie before I had it, and I love me some crappie fillets lol. I agree with you on reducing the amount you keep and even the limits. For example, the main lake I fish has a 20 crappie limit. I don't ever need or want to keep that many. Catch enough for dinner or the occasional fish fry and throw the rest back. Question, are you happy with your screen shade? Berleypro? Been thinkin about getting one.
@Dangle_Nation25 күн бұрын
Absolutely and congrats on the new system!! And it’s okay! If I’m being honest once it breaks I will very likely not replace it. But it does help every now and then!

@rogandreeloutdoors454529 күн бұрын
Yeah, pretty much like Kody said, just loosen/tune the spool tension just enough to allow that lil jig to free fall when you push the release. Then it’s just a matter of practice I guess. Next time we are out I will have Kody do a short on tuning the reel. Thanks for the question!!
@topsoutdooradventures29 күн бұрын
Since you said cheating, that implies a competition, supposedly between professionals. At least half the challenge of fishing is locating the fish. So.....Absolutely! I expect so much more from professional anglers than to watch them boat around staring at a screen. Case in point, you're not allowed to use a drone to locate game, deer specifically, for the purpose of hunting.
@Dangle_Nation29 күн бұрын
I had never thought about the drone argument and man thats a great one! Thanks for the input and highlighting such a good point!

11ft has more fines and detects smaller bites… even when the fish bumps it or swims up with the bait. 7`6” has more backbone and better when fishing next to trees or obstacles that prevent you casting… (impossible to do it with a 11 ft rod). Also, I would choose the 11ft because of the grip. Cork is excellent… most of my rods have cork grip.. (spinning rods and fly rods) but you have to be more mindful (don’t hook your bait, spinners, poppers into your cork rod handle).
