One of the first songs that brought me to the modern metal world, when Novelists used to be Novelists, honestly miss that sound.

My favorite guitarist of all time is Shawn Lane. Anyone who knows anything about guitar can tell you the level he was on. My man I can't tell you how often I listen to your solos. Your ability to speak through these solos is really really special stuff. Hope you're well.

Man idk if you’ll see this comment but where and how did you learn to play like this??? I hear a lot of bands with similar styles to this and would love to learn more about it but as with most of the metal scene I don’t even know where to begin my search, got really into deathcore for most of my guitar playing journey and Ive been wanting to broaden my horizons and tap into a more technical/softer side like this, pretty much every chord you play is one I’ve never seen before and the implementation of snappy shred licks always intrigued me. Is it really just extensively studying music theory?
