Great video, I have the same exact model as this one but white, it have 285000 km until now, I make 1000 km per month and no issues, it consumes more water than gasoline 😂, now I know it's the radiator leaking... It goes 120 km on the highway no problem and very good handling, little reliable gem!

I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for that. Glad the car wasn't sent to the scrapyard. We must try and keep things alive instead of throwing them away. I have a 207 with about 190000 on the clock and I intend to keep it alive as long as the government doesn't punish me too hard in taxes. The government in Denmark wants us to buy new cars. But why can't we keep our old cars alive

Hi, I've had a sedan Clio from 2001 1.4 8v 75hp. Loved that car, was bought new from the dealership by my parents, full options by that time, with ac and 14' alu wheels. Sold it when it was 250k km and saw it running at 320.ooo km very good at a friend (whom i sold it). Our has had 12 years guarantee for rust at the body and 100.000 km the engine's guarantee. Consumed around 6-7 liters of gasoline per 100km. Very good and reliable cars. Loved this video, every minute of it!

So many memories....I NEVER had access to a hoist in my Escort days, all work was done outside my house, in the street with a trolley jack, jack stands and a bottle jack. I still remember having to undo the front engine mounts to tilt the engine up at the front to get the gearbox bell housing down and away from the firewall. 6 inches of input shaft, one inch of clearance, because back in the British factory in the 1970's, they decided to fit engine and gearbox up as a unit, so it lifted straight up into position.....all good if you can get the entire car 10 foot off the ground..... I suggest whilst you have it out you change the pins on the selectors inside the gearbox, I have had these shear off with use. Also check the clutch throw out fork for stress cracks. I did my clutch once, put the gearbox back in the car, bolted it up again and was set to go for a test drive. Pushed the clutch pedal and it went right to the firewall and stayed there. I thought the cable had slipped at first, but after crawling back under the car, I found the throw out fork had folded and split at the pivot bolt inside the bell housing. So out came the gearbox again......and this went on the checklist for any future event. I went through clutches quite a bit....the tiny two plate Ford item didn't like 190+ HP......but ported, balanced and blueprinted 1600 Ford motors are FUN ......ask anyone that drives a Formula Ford....
@BatysGarage4 ай бұрын
Ahhh the memories! I never did either only recently I’ve had a ramp to use, I know the pain 😂 Thank you for the information I will get them pins changed! I’ve always checked the clutch forks on fords as they can be very problematic, wow I didn’t know you could get that much out of these engine!!

@@BatysGarage The Ford Crossflow 1600 is a great little engine, the Scottish built Sprintex superchargers were a perfect match to them aswell, I had one for a while, only had about 5psi boost but it was enough to lift the power to the point I got the speedo to go off the scale at 200kph indicated and I still had top gear from the 5 speed Celica box to go and 2500 rpm before the redline....the 2 litre was even better, but LOTS more money to play around inside of...even the 1300 was fun, with the slugs from the 1600 in it......if you had the REAL money though, you had sodium filled slugs in polished bores and roller bearings, etc.
