Cruising is certainly not the luxury holiday experience it once was......sadly, expensive disappointment is usually a given these days........and freeloading social-media shills are part of the problem

item 9. I am pretty sure I am of the age where drinking is required on the ship.

elevators? 5 minutes? I'd take the stairs or go to the bar on that floor for an hour. or two.

I wish "dissable elevators" was a thing like you could register before hand that you have some type of mobility aid/dissabilty that means you CAN´T use the stairs or stand for long periods of time but not nessecary need an accessable cabin(or it might be that you have booked one). so that there was a "privat elevator/elevators" for those who have filled out paperwork about their dissabillity and how it affects them not being able to take the stairs.

Some ships are coming out with a system where when you press the button, you also let it know what floor you're going to.

I hate embarkations! The 2 times i sailed on NCL it was a 2 and 3 hour wait, respectively, then you get hit with the dreaded muster drill....and disembarkation wasn't much better. Sailed once on MSC with priority boarding and that makes a world of differrence!!
@ShipToShoreCruiseNewsАй бұрын
Different times, ports, and cruise lines can make a difference. Princess Medallion makes it super simple, probably the easiest I've found, and choosing a later boarding time has made a difference to me as well. But then there's drawbacks to being onboard later.

Great tips! We do the same thing at the buffet except cutting in line and sneezing on the food. I’m glad cruise lines are cracking down on chair hogs around the lido deck! Embarkation and Debarkation are definitely the busiest! Thanks for sharing!

We are already booked for an MSC cruise out of Galveston in 2026. Any idea when MSC will open booking for 2027?
@ShipToShoreCruiseNewsАй бұрын
No idea. I do see that they have booking open till the end of December 2026 though. So I'd check back in about 3 months.

My biggest fear is losing my luggage right before a cruise. I booked my 1st cruise last month but I booked a direct flight and had no issues. After watching KZbin videos, I was prepared with a change of clothes in my carry on.
@CaliDisneyDiva4 ай бұрын
Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago on the Celebrity Beyond. My luggage was sent to Cozumel by United for my first port to be picked up and brought back to the ship. For some unknown reason, Celebrity sent it back and i didn't get it until i returned to the Fort Lauderdale airport. I will NEVER check luggage again. Carry-on only

Were your flights scheduled through Carnival or did you make the arrangements yourself? I am going to San Fran next week for an 11 day cruise to Alaska. I had Carnival book my plane reservations. So far, no problems.

American airline canceled our flight to Philadelphia. They moved us to another flight but was 15 minutes late to get to a flight to Venice We tried to get to the next port of call and bought clothes as our luggage were delayed. We file by French airline after 6 hours lay over telling them that we need our luggage but American airline keep on pointing to Delta to reimburse us for the cost but no one paid

I've packed most if my clothes in a carry-on since my luggage was lost in the 70's. It was on our homeward journey, so it no big deal.

We were just on B2B on the Liberty on the 14th and 21st of July. We have taken 23 cruises on Carnival and how they treated you is not a surprise at all. When we may have had a problem they would bend over backwards to do whatever was required. Glad you had a great time and Dunn's River Falls was enjoyable.
@adlerj54324 ай бұрын
Oh, Stuart - how terrible! I was on a Viking ocean cruise, and my luggage didn’t show up, even though I saw my suitcase at their terminal before we embarked. When I informed customer service, they very kindly offered me to choose from a selection of clothes they had available for such a problem. Fortunately, as this was the first day of the cruise, at almost midnight, we had a knock on our door, and there was my luggage. Apparently, since this was Super Bowl Sunday, and Viking showed it on their ship, some passenger mistakenly got my suitcase in his room and didn’t notice it until after the game when he finally went back to his room. He called customer service, who retrieved my suitcase and brought it to my cabin. 😅 Now we make sure to carry AirTags in each suitcase. You should use them next time. It might have found your luggage faster. Emmy

totally unrelated: I bought then cancelled a cruise, and was told it would take 'a fe3w months' to get my deposit back...then I forgot about it, sorta, and a year later I checked and I still haven't received it ( thought it might have just been deposited into may ccount and I missed the email). Now I'm trying to follow up... This was thru Expedia.
