If it doesn't have okra in it it's not gumbo. Without okra it's Cajun stew or something the name gumbo comes from okra or the African word for okra

Only use tomato’s in gumbo if it’s an okra gumbo. Keeps the okra from getting slimy.

I’ve greatly appreciated Dane’s transparency in sharing his story with others. He has been an encouragement to me, as well as many others. Many men are lonely, isolated, and our society has castrated men calling our natural tendencies toxic. We need this discussion, we need to shoulder each other’s burdens, and we need to fight our battles together. Well done guys.

Reagan also convinced a lot of people that corporate America would be able to enrich everyone's lives via trickle-down economics. A rising tide lifts all boats. Yea, right. The rich have yachts, and the middle class is in life boats. Most retirees only have a life vest, and as far as the working poor are concerned, it's sink or swim for them. His ideas helped facilitate the biggest transfer of wealth this country ever experienced up til then. That dubious record has been broken and surpassed by subsequent republican administrations. Its going on 45 years and still waiting for the trickle-down effect. Reagan also started the lie about the Social Security Trust going broke.

In the Great State Of TEXAS you are allowed to open carry and conceal carry. You do you and always take responsibility and ownership for the way you want to carry. If people keep saying that you are a target if you open carry or are a deterrent or the act of surprise if you conceal carry I would really like to see statistics on both sides to actually prove if this is true. In the world that we live in now it seems that everyone is a target no matter where you live or how you carry. Get rid of the no gun signs. It’s pretty obvious to see that criminals don’t care about the signs and it’s only an invitation to tell the criminals that it’s an area for a killing spree.

The issue of how to carry firearms-whether concealed or openly-is a topic of ongoing debate, particularly in states where both methods are legal, such as Nevada. I firmly believe that concealed carrying can make individuals more vulnerable, positioning them as potential targets rather than as defenders. This perspective stems from the inherent nature of concealed carry: it requires individuals to remain inconspicuous, often leading to a false sense of security. One significant drawback of concealed carrying is that individuals are often not perceived as threats. They blend into everyday life, which can lead aggressors to view them as easy targets. In a situation where a threat arises, a concealed carrier must wait for that threat to materialize, often within a dangerously close range, before they can take action. This delay can have dire consequences, as the time it takes to unholster and respond can be the difference between safety and harm. Moreover, a culture of judgment exists among some concealed carriers toward those who choose to open carry. This judgment often arises from fear-fear of public perception, fear of confrontation, and fear instilled by instructors who discourage open carry. It seems that many concealed carriers lack the confidence to open carry, leading them to criticize those who do. This mentality is counterproductive and undermines the shared goal of advocating for gun rights. As someone who open carries daily and resorts to concealed carry only in specific situations, like casinos, I have firsthand experience with both methods. Living in Nevada, where open carry has been legal since 1864 and is a common practice among locals, I have frequently encountered people-often newcomers from places like California-who are eager to learn about local gun laws. Open carriers serve as advocates for the Second Amendment, actively engaging in conversations about rights, responsibilities, and the legal nuances surrounding firearm ownership. In contrast, concealed carriers are less visible and often miss the opportunity to educate others about their rights. It's important to recognize that the rights of concealed carriers are often supported and protected by the efforts of open carriers. The visibility and advocacy of open carriers help foster an environment where all individuals can carry firearms legally and responsibly. If it weren't for those who openly advocate for gun rights, the landscape of concealed carry might look very different today. In summary, while concealed carrying may seem like a safer approach, it can paradoxically render individuals more vulnerable and less prepared to defend themselves. The fear of judgment and the stigma surrounding open carry can create a divide within the gun-carrying community that ultimately weakens the collective advocacy for Second Amendment rights. It is crucial for all carriers-whether concealed or open-to engage in constructive dialogue, support each other’s choices, and recognize the importance of visibility in promoting responsible gun ownership.

You act as if the process of Joe handing it off to Kamala is some sort of undemocratic usurping. But the fact of the matter is that she's incredibly supported and has massive approval ratings among Democrat voters. Just look at the historic grassroots fundraising that happened just days after she was chosen. Precious few Dem's had an issue with Joe choosing Kamala. Also, I gotta ask. Who was calling for police to remove body cams because it wasn't fitting "an agenda"? Sounds phony to me. We just had the Sonya Massey incident, and if it wasn't for the body cam footage, then all the public would have to go on was the lies of the police. Police have a history of planting evidence and lying about it. Only the bodycam can disprove them.

Trump's entire platform is division. Yes around the world we've all suffered from the pandemic, I wish my country rebounded as quickly as yours has though.... Corporate greed is worldwide, when you find someone that can control that we all want to know. I presume being from Texas you're likely republicans, so I'll leave you with the fact that things were NEVER better under Trump than they were Biden. Unless you disingenuously want to point to gas prices being low in the middle of a pandemic (simple supply and demand)....
@GOTalkTexas5 ай бұрын
What country do you live in? The USA is definitely not better under Biden than it was under Trump. I’m not sure where you’re getting your information from but if it’s from the corporate media then you have been successfully brainwashed by their propaganda.
