Great movie. Im a struggling recovering addict myself. Its so hard and people that have never walked in our shoes will never understand. The world is slowly making a turn and realizing that we dont choose this life. We made one wrong decision and got hooked. Nobody wakes up one day and says i want to be an addict. I hope everyone whos struggling out there can get the strength to overcome their demons. I know the battle all too well ive tried staying sober over 50 times now. Anyway take care everybody and thanks for the movie

So next time you make a film about crackheads why don't you call it crack or crackheads or jcats cuz these dudes r lil mental ya?
@LexoKnight3 ай бұрын
Okay I'm going to help you out here because obviously not only are you a novice filmmaker but a novice at life too so let me give you a lesson here the term "junkie" explicitly refers to Heroine or opiate users

The filmwork and acting isn't bad at all, I like it! But I really don't understand why they centered the film on drug addiction when it's clear they know absolutely nothing about their subject matter. I'm a recovering heroin addict myself

Nice camera work, main character fine asf but this is so bad lol... it's so heavy handed. It reads like it came from the mind of an edgy teen. Even not-drug-addicts in new england know better than this just by going outside.

3 minutes in and this is a farce. Whoever wrote this is not an addict. This is based on the distant memory of an idea of what an addict is.

I met your mother who told me about your filming. Congratulations for what you have and will create in the future. American history is not taught in classrooms. Filmmaking is teaching the true American history. “his”story is tailored facts; “her”story is truth.

I’m not sure why this is classed as award winning. It seems to oversimplify severe drug addictions. Sure you get some good cops everyone knows that. But 99% of the time it takes a lot more than a couple of words of encouragement The film is quite inaccurate and doesn’t show any of the real nightmares of addiction

Hi Alyssa!! ❤️ My "professional" review: I remembered seeing this film with Andrea at the town hall in Fairhaven, MA. (We made it a gal's night.) I just rewatched it, though, and yeah, of course, it could be a little better! Alyssa was a young college student at the time! However, the scenery, the script (majority), the camera work (the shots & angles), the lighting, the wardrobe, props, etc., were AWESOME! Maybe the actors OVER acted a little, but they did well, too. They could tone it down a little, make it more realistic. I liked the ending because being an addict myself, it is true; sometimes, in order to get it through your thick skull and possibly get some help, all you need to hear is a kind word. When Whitney got it from an unexpected source - a cop - it seemed to really hit home with him. That is also how it is in real life. You never know when you'll hear someone say something that really clicks that will make you want to turn your life around. Great message, Alyssa, to all the addicts everywhere, that there's still HOPE for you, as long as you're not lying in a coffin! Once you find that hope in your heart ❤️ again, you will see that there is HELP out there, too. You just have to reach out! 😊 God 🙌 is with you, Alyssa. 🙏

Hi Liz!! Thank you so much for watching and for this comment! It's crazy that you and your friend came to see it back then - full circle moment! I cringe so hard at all the things I want to do differently, but I keep telling myself it's not about me, it's about the message. There's still HOPE and LOVE for people struggling with addiction. I'm so glad you've found your hope. You are radiant and so full of life. I'm so glad you've come into my family's life. I'd love to spend more time with you and to hear some of your story ideas!

Junkie's mind is creating the entire fucking universe and you discover that that's blahsome who's been doing it the whole everything. It's utterly shocking and astounding. It's so astounding that you won't want to believe orgasm because people have told you all it's lineartistical to say that you're 5meo. Only a hallucination would claim that she's happy. You're imagining the entire tripping universe. What does that make you? That makes you a junkie. Reality is pure film. Tada.
