One of the best drummers of the 80s. He had a finesse and timing that was incredible. One reason he may have been underrated because he played with so much bands who requested his skill that he was hard to follow.

パットは、なんて広い背中なんだろう。ふくらはぎもそうだけど、相当鍛えたんだな。名古屋で観たパットはとても格好良かった。

I showed Pat's video to my wife and she said "he's better looking than Tom Cruise". What a powerhouse drummer he was with chops. Solid drumming and full of energy and well organized drum solo as well

リズムの取り方、裏の叩き方、パットにしか出せない独特のドラム。同じ曲でもパットがドラムを叩くと曲が変わったように聞こえるほど。間違い無く世界No. 1ドラマー

Ok….so, we all get a little weird (myself included) when ‘resident- expert KZbin commenters refer to an artist or a performance as criminally underrated. I generally prefer the term under-appreciated. Well, in this case It applies…while the lack of general knowledge of Pat Torpey’s faculty may not be a crime, it definitely is a shame. Unarguably a tour de force solo. A (tasteful) display of everything that makes an excellent drum performance, that is absolutely on par with anything from Steve Smith, Todd Sucherman, etc…. Am I saying PT is the GOAT? No way, but he’s definitely in that elite category.
