So glad someone stepped up to demand that people stop demonizing the mother - WHO IS ACTUALLY CARING FOR THE CHILD- and made a mistake that LOTS of mothers make but don’t face these consequences. I’m so proud to see women supporting and uplifting other women rather than piling on and shaming.

Newburgh Parks and Rec Board failed the community by not maintaining the Fortress of Fun over the 29 years of use. Each year this structure should have seen minor damage from wear and tear being repaired so this structure, obviously designed by somebody in the past who loves children, could live on into the future.

Problem is care givers and teachers are just mentally and physically tired. And under paid gets worst. And this is everywhere !

I do not condone these actions. Why do they put so many kids in one classroom? Why is there only 1 teacher? The amount of children with disabilities like this is increasing more and more. Why aren’t the teachers trained more? Also, this is very stressful and the stress on these teachers is enormous, so like in a NNICU they only work so long and take time off. Are the teachers able to blow off steam to outside sources? Very sad for the children, parents, and teachers.

The report says the family lived in the mobile home and just moved in a couple of weeks before this happened. My guess would be the landlord didn't have that unit properly tied down or anchored.

I've lived in trailers off and on over 54 years and untill the one I live in now, none had tie downs. It didn't used to be required, but now it is and that's a good thing!!!
