Seeing Bond films on holiday at the cinema was always something our family did. Like 1973 in Bournemouth, Live and Let Die. 1977 in Tenby, The Spy Who Loved Me. 1979 in Jersey, Moonraker. 1983 in Scarborough, Never Say Never Again.

The character was in his late 30s in the books, staring down the retirement age of 45. I don’t have a problem with an actor in his 40s, even late 40s, considering people can age more gracefully now than they did in the 1950s.

I think they should bring back Timothy Dalton and make property of a lady, Bond as a mature man. He was my favourite Bond, I also liked George Lazenby, my 2nd favourite Bond.

Serious question: Is Bond fandom aging out, almost all the events I attend are filled with forty and up fans or are there groups of younger fans that are getting together else where?

I recently watched the documentary again, chronicling Daniel Craig’s casting and rise to Bond fame. The passion and love for the character expressed by both the cast and creative team behind the films is the reason they were so successful. It’s disheartening to see the disconnect taking place. BB knows what she’s doing. I really hope they work this out and we get the next Bond/film we deserve.

I certainly agree that there was a lot talent and passion producing the Craig era films. But when they interviewed Craig following the release of Spectre, he sounded like Sean Connery after YOLT- burned out and done! I would have preferred that Eon took Daniel at his word and rebooted the franchise with someone else. Instead they invested several years on another Craig film where Bond is blown to bits!
@flixsymmetry8 сағат бұрын
@@tomchris60 True. Though the film has grown on me. Just as we never question the character seemingly ageless living in his prime since the 60s, we’ll get used to another reboot of the character. That is if they get their act together.

Seems like a lot of the men are gay at this party. Which i have no issue with at all, I'm not homophobic at all, it just seems like these get togethers may be more for hookups than Bond or maybe theyre gay Bondian hookups???

We have watched OHMSS over a dozen times now since Thanksgiving. This film just gets better for me. Tracy my favorite Bond Girl. Draco my fav Ally. The score is awesome. When Blofeld and his men single file ski that mountain crest, to that score, is epic.but I watch this all year long. No Bond film I’ve watched more. GE, Goldfinger, Liv Daylights, Octopussy, Skyfall all close though.

I have watched lots of videos connected to ‘James Bond’ When Sean and Diane were living in ‘acacia’ a house next to the entrance of Acton Park, West London from around 1962-1967 ish he gave an interview to F.Lee Bailey in the Autumn of 67. In the interview a question Lee asked was about most Hollywood stars surround themselves with opulence and lots of fast cars etc’ Sean replied and said that he had kept all the clothes he had amassed in the films up to mid 1967 and had 1 car. I know that the family of Roger auctioned off a lot of personal items in October 2023. I wonder if Sean’s family will do the same. It would be good to think someone in the Bond Community could own some of it Oh and this house sold last around 6 years ago for around £3.4 million. It may I’m sure have gone up in value ☝️☝️🎄🎄🎄🌲🌲🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴❤️❤️

For people of a certain age in Britain, ITV showing a Connery or Moore film over Christmas was a big part of us getting into Bond in the first place.
@joanne2617 сағат бұрын
It must have been around 1974-5 when ITV in 🏴🏴🇬🇧🇬🇧 bought the rights from MGM/UA to air the Bond Films. I cannot remember in what order they were shown as it’s so long ago. I was born in 65 so old enough to know what they were ‘all about’ ITV still show them all from time to time Sean is my Bond because I love the 60’s decade today 🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴☝️☝️❤️❤️🎉🎉🎄🎄🌲🌲

I totally agree with you. As a Brit who has loved the Bond movies since my childhood in the 1970's, I just recently listened to the original novel Casino Royale on Amazon's Audible for the first time. The thing is I don't know if I've listened to the original as Audible has pulled many of the recordings of the original Fleming novels! So I don't know what is the edited versions compared to the originals! This whole PC business is so controlling🤯. Thanks for your content
