I have found 3 baby's in my garden .no mother . They are the size of an orange . Some how they are living at the back of my wooden pond .1 is smaller than the other 2. Feeding them on cat meat worms and the inside of cucumber ..my problem is what to do with them when it starts getting cold .do they still hybanate in winter .

I would advise you contact a local animal rescue, they might be too small to survive alone without a mother. Which country are you in?

Hi Mike, I use wired Hikvision CCTV dome cameras which I pick up off eBay (second hand usually). They are various models, but an example would be DS-2CD2143G0-IU. All are 2.8mm lens (widest angle) and have built in microphones (the '-U' option) and infra-red illumination, which is the only lighting I use. They are powered via the network cable ('PoE'). I choose fixed focus cameras (cheaper) and manually re-focus them to suit the short distance I am using them for. I have found them to be very reliable. I hope that helps.

When hedgehogs know better, it gets funny, see here: 05:16:09, 06:54:14, 06:55:29, 06:58:30 This hedgehog was not so happy with the arrangement of the food bowls in the feeder. He made a change, but later regretted it and became really angry.

04:37:06: We've already seen this hedgehog on the night of June 29th to June 30th. You said it could be Throaty. Now we see it again here at 04:37:06 and I'm sure it's not Throaty. Throaty's right ear is much less injured. But this ear looks eaten away like Spock's left ear. This new hedgehog has a healthy left ear (04:39:49), while Throaty's left ear is also deformed. So I think this hedgehog is new, and because of his ear injury he is easy to recognize. I think we see this new hedgehog again at 04:45:54

I took another close look at the hedgehog's ears at 01:27:03. I don't think it's Throaty, but actually a new guest. The same hedgehog appears again in the video from the live stream from 7/19 to 7/20. See my comment there too.

Congratulations! The first baby hedgehog of 2024 has arrived, HD's tiny new hoggy can be seen: 01:28:48 in the feeder garden (mini), 01:40:34 in the garden in the wheel, 02:06:24 in the feeder garden (mini). The little one is so cute!

None! I used this area as a soft release in spring for some hogs that were over wintered in hutches with wheels and they used it, but the wild ones don't. I keep it there in case one of those comes back, I think immediate use would be a way to recognise them.

08:10:12 Throaty The right side of his throat doesn't look healthy (ticks, blood?). Be careful with wet cat food containing jelly or sauce. Manufacturers often add substances to the jelly or sauce that are intended to prevent constipation in cats, especially indoor cats, but can cause severe diarrhea in hedgehogs. It is better to choose a pie with at least 60% pure meat, but no grains, no vegetables, no bread or rice.

Poor Throaty he's not had an easy time. Thanks for the information about the wet food. They seem to eat the meat and leave the jelly but I'll try to put only the meat not the jelly out.
