They are in enclosed land albeit a very large piece of land and are being monitored, I would think the only predator would be the Iberian wolf if it expands into those territories in sufficient numbers but still they would only be able to prey on the sick and the very young? What on earth is a Ostervadenplas?????

@wildsideholidays
@wildsideholidays Жыл бұрын
@shifang8975
@shifang8975 Жыл бұрын

I appreciate your perspective on the matter, and I understand that you feel strongly about it. However, it is important to approach discussions with an open mind and respect for diverse viewpoints. The claim that the English have consistently undermined the Spanish language is a broad generalization that may not accurately reflect the complexities of cultural interactions. Language evolution and influence are natural processes that occur across different cultures and nations. Let's promote understanding and appreciation for linguistic diversity rather than attributing negative intentions to specific groups.

Very surprising. Oriental hornet's have the strongest bite force out of all wasps and hornets. But yet again European hornet is triumphant. I don't know what it is about European hornets and other giant wasps and insects but they always seem to have the upper hand. Yet the Sting of a European hornet doesn't do much to humans. But there must be a toxicity to other insects in their stinger.

@@djwildlifeclips9779 Actually they are very common, especially here in the south of Spain.. Many people are terrified of them as they can often come up in your shower or sink through the drains and brickwork... The worst nightmares are when they are crawling up your leg at night in bed.... the bite is quite painfull and itches like hell for a few days. Much worse than the funnel web spider bite... (I have experienced both) hehehehehe..... Mostly I like the name which reminds of a bug found on the planet Megarian from an episode of Star Trek! (I made that up i think) :)

What a good mom! Others might think it’s gross or creepy but I’ve always thought this behavior was cute. Big mother spider letting her children piggyback until they’re able to go off on their own. Considering norms among invertebrate parents often include opportunistic cannibalism, laying eggs and leaving, or dying before any babies appear(or even being eaten by them), it’s nice that there are some that will instead protect their young like this. Plus as an added bonus you can describe them as baby bug busses! (Bug in this case referring to more than just insects) Right now I actually have a grass spider in one of my bioactive terrariums that made it to this stage just a few hours ago! I spotted her under a little shelter she appears to have made, consisting of a dry leaf stuck to a rock with some silk threads. I’ll probably be releasing her soon, as I fear for the safety of the little ones if left in there; they’d be at the mercy of several other spiders and a small narrow mouthed toad. It’ll be an interesting process, though, if I do attempt it; she’s very protective of the sac and spiderlings and already forced me to start using a wooden skewer to move things around. She’ll bite the heck out of that and even hold on, but better it than my fingers!
