The problem is that you know Cody isn't losing that belt to anyone other than Roman,Rock or maybe Randy. That is a completely different tier. He beat a wrestling god(roman) so he can only lose to a wrestling God. Sami couldn't believably Cody but you could watch that match on Monday and thought he could be Gunther.

I don’t hate Cody’s reign. He’s doing his bit but we know what’s to come. He has that plot armour of an unfinished story with The Rock, only when that ends will it be more entertaining as we won’t know when he’ll drop the belt. That’s if Rock or Roman don’t take it from him.

I don’t remember if they actually ended up doing this, but it wouldn’t have been the worst thing if they put the heat on this whole thing on the ref. Premature/bad stoppages happen all the time in boxing/MMA, so why not wrestling? Plus you sell the uncertainty afterward re: whether Rollins could actually beat the Fiend at the end of the day. Make no mistake about it, though, in all the years I’ve been watching wrestling, that the was the single worst booked match I have ever seen. Nothing tops it.

What’s up Matt! Absolutely respect and love your podcast. I tell ya, nothing better than watching old school WWE and professional on Peacock. The creative freedom was phenomenal. I recently watched the launch, premiere episode of SmackDown, and Bad Blood 97, and it’s really incredible how that content from over 25 years ago, still gives me electrifying goosebumps. It goes to show that the Attitude Era was lightning caught in a bottle. And I honestly believe without doubt, the current state of all of professional wrestling AKA The WrestleVerse, is currently on the same track to become lightning caught in a bottle for the second time in AE era ended 23 years ago. And what’s so amazing to see and hear, is that superb passion in Cole’s voice and how he displayed that in his demeanor from all those years ago feels exactly like what’s he’s doing today in wrestling.

That nigel vs danielson match was bad, to a lot of people its a dream match 15 years or so in the making, as it happens, he moves so god damn slow and Danielson has to literally keep his momentum at a slower pace just so nigel can keep up.
