Saw Mike and the Dirty Knobs play with Lucinda Williams in Las Vegas recently. I absolutely love TP and the HB, but Mike's show left a lot to be desired. The sound didn't seem to fit the hall (Brooklyn Bowl), as it was more racket than music. Also, I unknowingly expected Mike to play his refined, understated type playing as he did with TP - instead it was like playing all his licks in like every song, just no restraint at all.....just too much. At least if I ever see them again I'll know what to expect.

Wow. I been to LA and Hollywood in 2004. I live in Toronto. Saw his Farewell concert in Toronto. I remember hearing this song with fond memories of being in LA and Hollywood. Amazing song

I was there while the Oakland As played next door. My 1st GVF concert. It was alright. Nice to see these guys bring back somewhat old school rock n roll. Although they have become somewhat fem/trans band with with how they are dressing makeup and the gay flags everywhere. Sign of the times in the U.S. I guess. IMHO they looked better when they first started out and on SNL. Still decent show.

@@miarodriguez7234 If an artist uses theatrics to embellish their craft its their choice. In GVF case, I almost feel its a distraction from the amount of talent these 4 gentlemen have been gifted with. ✌️

I guess you didn't like most rock/punk bands from 70s or 80s too. They have been dressing the same way since they came out, wearing makeup (josh/danny) for the past 4-5 years... nothing has changed with them... only thing has changed is that Josh came out. that is it.
