I use the Jetboil 1.5L Ceramic FluxRing Cook Pot with the MSR Whisperlite International Stove. It boils water really quick even in sub zero conditions and the Whisperlite sits well inside the pot (with a soft cloth to protect the ceramic coating). The combination is unchallenged in my humble opinion!

No video I have seen so far shows taking it off. It works great but having to tip your kayak over to take it off is inconvenient. The pillars really sick in my scupper holes, and so you can’t just lift it off. You can try lifting it up and banging the tops of the pillars, but that is pretty awkward too.

Yeah, pretty much have to take everything off the kayak to put it on or take off the kayak. It can be a hassle at times

Thanks for the video! I need a pot for a backpacking trip with 2-3 people. Can I cook food and not only boil water with less than a 1.5 liters pot? I want a pot that will be big enough but not bulky for backpacking..
@MarkDouglasOutside2 жыл бұрын
In my experience, it works well with foods that require a lot of water such as rice or pasta. But for cooking, it’s average. There are other backpacking pans that are better than this

Will this still work if I don’t have a kayak?
@paulnewell35092 жыл бұрын
The geometry of using this as a standalone trolley for carrying nothing is problematic, but it could be modified for that purpose fairly easily. I would recommend fashioning a kayak-shaped piece of lightweight rotomolded plastic to attach to the trolley, which would act as kind of a chassis for your nothing vehicle.

Very nice video. I live in the Cleveland area and I was down here today for a quick job in the morning and I am so glad I brought my bike with me. Very warm for December! I started at the parking lot at the 4:00 mark of your video. I went roughly 9 miles to where the trail ended at Creek Meadows Drive which is close to Refugee Road. I then turned back and went past the parking lot and continued on the Alum Creek trail till I hit a stop sign at Watkins Road so I went back to where I was parked. Ended up going 24 miles. I was amazed at the number of tunnels and bridges and that awesome crossing of US Route 33! 24 miles and not having to stop for traffic, this is a cyclist's paradise!

I have the same.kayak and I love mine. I agree the flush rod holders are useless. They are there to force you to buy their rod holder accessory. I went to Wal-Mart and brought two flush mounted rod holders with closed bottoms. I installed them and now have two working rod holders. The side handles are useless as you stated. Perception should fix that. I wish they would have design the kayak for more legroom. A tall person is cramped in the kayak. While people love the seat, I prefer a lower seat like the ones in sit in kayaks. I feel more connect to the kayak with a lower seat. Overall I love my Pescador Pro 120 and would buy it again.

@@MarkDouglasOutside I read reviews that in the lower position you are not sitting in a seat but almost on plastic. And if water gets there, you will kayak with a wet ass. so I asked. Maybe it depends on the weight of the canoeist? I have a hard time choosing kayaks. on sale there is only pro10.0 or 12.0, tarpoon120, and that's it.

You can check to see if there is any grease or oil on the shaft and clean it. If that does not work, you can cut a piece of old bicycle tube and slide it into the shaft to give a little more grip. Hopefully the helps
