This is crazy. Glad you are seeing this for what it is and getting a plan in place but this still isn’t enough. Minimum payments means you’ll be stuck in this forever because the interest will keep these amounts high. Daughter is getting a tuition based scholarship only, so you still have to pay for housing, which in most places exceeds the cost of tuition. Living out of state means expenses for living and getting her home for breaks and back to school. This doesn’t sound like a smart decision given the situation you’re in. She can go to community college, live at home, and transfer to a state school. That car should have been gone last week. Have you listened to Dave Ramsey?? If not, you really need to.

Credit reports are your Debt Slave papers. They keep track of all the businesses that own you. Credit scores are reward points for staying in debt with your owners listed on your credit reports ... they mean nothing more. Credit reports show if you own the business of yourself in The United States of America 🇺🇸 .... or not.

This is just insanity. You guys have over 370k in consumer debt , including high interest CC debt and personal loans & SL debt . All while haven’t a 60k car and prioritizing vacations over paying off 370k in consumer debt is just absurd. There are just no other words . The car should absolutely go . Best of luck to you !

i am going to have a nervous breakdown. you seem like you are chill as can be. get rid of the expensive vehicles, get rid of the house, have an emergency fund and pay off your bills as fast as possible. no vacations for the kids...you can't even afford vacations for yourself. don't pay your kids college either, they can get grants/loans. if you get out of debt then want to do that....great. until then, you are drowning in debt. i am sick to my stomach. i think my hair is falling out! good luck! omg he lost his job! see!
@stephaniel6867Ай бұрын
Why would they get rid of a house with a 4% interest rate and a monthly payment of $1632.62 to go pay $2500-3500 in rent. Please use common sense with some things. The lady also said she's taking vacations for her family so why make a comment about it. Why would you have a nervous breakdown over someone else's debt? Do you understand what a nervous breakdown really is? I think you're just dramatic bc you're also sick to your stomach smh.

Not your fault. Those interest are. In my country we don’t see that kind of interest rate.
@stephaniel6867Ай бұрын
I wouldn't say that. She was aware of the interest. And the thing is she could've paid the CCs off each month and opted not too. A 60k car with her student loans would be enough for me to not get it. She's aware so she'll make progress step by step.

I did 4 years in the Navy in 1976-1980. I used the GI bill to help pay for my college. The GI Bill would pay you up to a certain amount based on the number of credits you took. I went to a private college so the amount they gave me did not cover 100% tuition. Sometimes you need to make sacrifices yearly in life to help get started on the right foot. I had about $6K in student loans and worked a second job after college to pay off the loan faster. $6k may not seem like a lot but income was much lower than today. Many students were getting about $15k-$19k a year for their first job out of college.

Hi friend, thank you for your transparency. I've been a teacher for 25 years. I felt every bit of what you were saying in this video. All you need to do is wake up every morning and put one foot in front of the other while you work your plan. Trust me you can do it. I was debt free in 2020 then life did the most and kept doing ever since. Also, you have a partner. Hold each other accountable and get 8n a better place with your debt. Even if that means it's not all paid off. You got this 🎉❤

As a fellow teacher, I totally understand the guilt behind spending so much time with other people’s kids that your own children don’t get the best of you as you say. BUT I honestly think it would be much more fruitful to reduce your stress so they can have more of you instead of spending on vacations when you don’t necessarily have the money to do so. If I were in your shoes, I would drop to part-time work or maybe take a teaching role that is less strenuous. Sounds counterintuitive since you need to pay off debt! But it might actually help because I think a lot of people’s spending issues have more to do with emotional needs rather than a lack of financial knowledge.

Mrs Mom do what is best for you and your family. you see the debt, knock down the lowest first and remember you could get the loans deferred to allow you to catch up on the small bills. Now make sure pay yourself take 20-50 a check and put away for emergency savings. When you shop, make your budget to stick with (envelopes with how much you would spend in categories like laundry, gas/light/ car note, insurance, mortgage, food, student loan, credit cards etc. Write down what you want to pay each category.

Students can go to community colleges. Cars can be sold. Vacations are optional. Change your brand of toilet paper. However, it's your journey and you will work it out.
@gerhard61052 ай бұрын
The toilet paper 👍. We Dutch use our bicycles very much, we do not let lights burn where we are not in the house, we close the watertap while brushing teeth, shower short. Do not buy nonsense items, repair as much as you can yourselfs, try to get a lower car insurance when you do not make many miles. Keep your car tyres at the right pressure. Cook at home 99,9% of the year.

I wouldn't send the kids to community college when all they're paying for is for her stay. She can get a scholarship for that as well.

My anxiety is on overdrive now after watching this. I have zero debt and a paid for house. My minimum monthly payments for internet, cable, utilities is less than $400. I save 70% of my income and live off the other 30% and I worry about spending too much.
@Randompotatoes-qs7bm4 ай бұрын
Don’t you have to pay anything monthly for the house? (I rent so it sounds like a paid off house…only has school and property tax?). If so…I can’t imagine being stressed out when you’re only living on 30% of income. That’s a very comfortable place to be! Be happy and try not to be so stressed 🎉.
@jamescares90034 ай бұрын
@@Randompotatoes-qs7bm I paid my house off earlier this year. Only have to pay taxes(2.1k per year) and insurance 1.5k per year. That 30% I use for utilities, internet, food etc
