The question is, Is Israel in need of more manpower?? If needed, we should have bases with a kosher Mikveh , glatt kosher, chalav Yisroel. We must realize our enemies want to destroy all of us . Very important for the Nation to be united

If you are using it to justify ethnic cleansing and the murder of babies, then it has NO authenticity or authority. Zionism betrays the Torah.

That's a stupid proof in any case bec naaseh refers to mitzvos so in that case they certainly are doing. The way you are applying it to army service (which by the way I have a nuanced opinion about so it's not like my opinion is bec of sour grapes) is just so childish and corny like a school bus 'oh yeah!!!!!' proof.

Could one argue that if the frum yeshivas are not doing their job to protect Israel in the spiritual realm, are they doing their jobs? If they are not, then shouldn't they go to war?

Very interesting if we look at market value we could go at insirance that companies have paid for hostages in South America. Now what is the state of israeli jails ? I don t know it don t have the numbers. There is a certain free rider effect in giving up certain detainees that really took security space in israeli jails in conditions that would create the need to build greater prisons. Let us too remember Yahyah Sinwar (now RIP and we rest better in peace without him). Well he organized a greater terror actions. Usually when there is an exchange of prisoner orva massive release of detainess in anmisty what makes the whole thing more value is the next step after it. If the next step is Shalom salam Bezrath Hashem in my opinion our effort would have been even better an uplift forveveryoneb(both sides) if it goes another way it may leed to morecsteps down . Allow me judt this personal positive explenation Bezrath Hashem anajnu rotsim Democratic Medina Israel Shalom Salam Emuna tikva bitachon bring the hostages back home Laila tov

Him Whom They Have Pierced 10“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.11On that day the mourning in Jerusalem will be as great as the mourning for Hadad-rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.

THE RAV IS ALL OVER THE NET B'H
@ElleMonzon
@ElleMonzon 6 күн бұрын
The Rav speaks about medicinal vs recreational cannibis, where the former appears to be permissible halachakly given that it has a therapeutic benefit, whereas there are problems that arise from recreational use and the pursuit of experiencing a mind alteration. An issue the Rav does not address is those who may not have a prescription under medical guidance from a physician who use cannibis for self-medication or who feel they have a therapeutic need for it. For whatever reason they have not gone to a doctor or been able to find one. It would seem like there is a grey area. I suppose that’s why the Rav says to speak to your LOR…

Even agreeing with Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, this situation is altogether different.... because his entire logic that "a possible death does not have superiority over a certain death; on the contrary, a certain death, as in a hostage situation, takes precedence over a potential death" does not apply in a case of 1000 murderes, who SURELY will kill more than one person.

Excellent shiur. I have listened to a few shiurim by Rav Asher Weis on this subject but Rav Breitowitz's shiur is a lot easier to digest. Yasher Koach. I was just wondering why a similar shiur has not been uploaded on the Ohr Somayach channel. Has the Rav even given this shiur to the boys there?

I wish I could hear this and retain it. I’ve watched you lecture on this topic through Yiboneh. There’s a lot of nuance, and so many interesting angles. Too many than I can retain. I wish I could say that this shiur makes me feel better. Torah does, to be true. Perhaps simply knowing that there’s enough nuance gives some personal peace. I am expecting an emotional roller coaster over the next several weeks.

How about the moral “fissures and cracks” produced by abandoning Israel’s finishing the job of pursuing war aims dedicated to preventing further attacks on Jewish civilians in Israel, and dedicated to seeing that the soldiers Israel has lost in this war did not die in vain? The comment illustrates the reason that some ought not to make military policy, unless they are as tough-minded as Golda Meir was.

Not to mention the very real Pikuach nefesh from releasing murderers. Not to mention it incentives abductions. I hate to say it because this Rabbi seems well meaning but what a convoluted and illogical argument he is making to justify the popular and easy approach.
