Stopped drinking as part of a fitness challenge… slipped up for carnival in February, got completely wasted and passed out and vomited at a party in my own house. And since then don‘t even want to drink anymore. Still I actually enjoy going to bars and clubs… last weekend on friday i was out until 4 and Saturday until 6… didn‘t feel like a complete trainwreck but sunday was really not so productive just because of the overwhelming tiredness . It is not just the alcohol but at my age of 38 it is just the lack of sleep that fucks you up. Still i reccomend not drinimg very much. Made my life overall way better.

I never drank in my life I turn 21 in October. Literally one of the best decisions I ever made I’m so ahead of people my age, have my own business I am a really good boxer, I’m a distance runner I love to work out, and I am crushing in school right now, and I started getting up early everyday getting after it I had a tough childhood because of drinking, and I seen what it does to people I had to quit talking to my dad because he made my childhood miserable because of it, and he hasn’t changed, it also helps to be around people that don’t drink clearly.

When you’re in alcohol addiction one year seems like eternity - once you decide to quit and eliminate alcohol from your life, you look back after one year and the desire to poison yourself with alcohol seems ridiculously stupid. Just quit, it’s stupid to drink poison.

When you drink alcohol, you tolerate life. When you're sober, you live life. I used to be in denial, I thought drinking once a month wasn't harmful but since I quit 8 months ago, I can tell you drining one day robs you of the next week or two, you just are not in your peak mental and physical form. If you feel life is a drag, it's probably the effects of alcohol or drugs(yes weed too). Stop.

@@ThePursuitOfMastery I started December 6th, 2021, with the intention of only doing a year. When December 6th 2022, arrived. I went to the store with the intention of buying a six pack of beer and left the grocery store with a twelve pack of Topo-Chico sparkling mineral water. Quitting alcohol has been one of the best decisions of my life. Physically, financially, emotionally and mentally I have improved tremendously. I look forward to each day and the next day, knowing I will not have a headache or hangover! For anyone that is struggling with alcohol. I just want you to know that the first two weeks were difficult for me. After that, it got much easier. Nature, exercise and stretching (Yoga) is a MUST! I had to start moving forward so I would not concentrate on the past...

Massive congratulations! Happened to me as well, I decided on 27 December 2021 to stop for a full year. Only on like 5 January 2023 I realized I’d surpassed the year. I’ve lost 22kg, I’m sharper, 10 times more motivated, I’m up at 5am 7 days a week, have truck loads more energy and my business is now booming. The biggest thing I notice is my ability to handle pressure. I’m under extreme pressure all the time and now I have clarity and focus and can lead my team through tough situations in full control. I don’t get rattled like I used to…. I highly recommend giving up the booze. Dale

In essence a good video but you contradict yourself and deal with this topic like it's an absolute. "Why do people have to judge someone who doesn't have to drink poison" See you had to add in the backhand of "poison" that basically casts a judgement on anyone who DOES drink - no matter how much. Moderation is perfectly fine for the body and mind, some people might like to unwind after a big meal with a small glass of ice and liqor, or they may have friends and just want to enjoy 1-2 beers for a soft buzz and discussion lubricant. Do they NEED to? No, but if it's in acceptable amounts and you're not addictive then there's no reason why you have to drink nothing. It's people's projection of your own inability to handle substances in minor amounts when they act like you have to be cold turkey your whole life.
@ThePursuitOfMastery2 жыл бұрын
Thanks appreciated! 🙏🏻 I appreciate the fact that you took time to comment and leave actual constructive criticism. You’re absolutely right. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying a cocktail every now and then. I would say to use better words: I don’t understand why people think you have a problem with alcohol if you don’t drink it, no one else will make that question if you don’t take LSD, or Coke, or any other drug. You cannot tell me alcohol isn’t categorized as a drug, if I drink three beers, I’m not allowed to drive anymore because my mind is “foggy”. It’s very unlikely to make damages in your body if you drink responsibly like you said. Anything, if abused will be dangerous for the body, even water… I really appreciate your view on this one . Thank you so much for stopping by for sharing with me your view. 🙏🏻 🙌🏻

You'll know when you are ready. I walked away from it in June. I was tired of the issues related to alcohol. The biggest change will be better sleep, better mood and you will save alot of money. Eventually you will get angry that you let alcohol control your life and this makes you dislike it more. 👍

@@ThePursuitOfMastery I did the 'I got no money' detox. Had no choice. Was a sweaty shakey few days, but got through it. That was back in June. Now feel great, have a few grand in the bank, eating and sleeping great. Doing things I enjoy without drinking. A few years ago I was walking around Miami homeless and struggling. Spending food stamp money on cooking wine. (The salty kind) . That was a low point. Looking back, I wasted so much time and effort chasing that shit. Now, I'm in the UK, Wales to be exact, and things are much better. Relapse is always a possibility, and I knew in the past I wasn't ready to stop. This time I think I've drawn that line and choose not to go over it. I'm tired of losing everything, and I'm tired of the shame. It took many years to get to this point, and hopefully I can walk away from it forever. I'll never forget though. A bit like a ex girlfriend who tore you to pieces and you always took her back. 🙈 😆
