Very clear tutorial but draft is a terrible App. The Draft app, misses massive details from voice recordings and cannot transcribe the voice memo well at all
@dotpink2 күн бұрын
That happened to me as well, I totally agree. I had some voice memos I recorded when I was driving, when the recording wasn't in good quality, the transcription via Drafts didn't come out well, they didn't make sense. I switched to Descript get.descript.com/kiasc6f31c36 it's a much better App but no mobile version, you'll need to upload the voice memo, perhaps I'll do a tutorial on this. You can also try Otter.ai, it has mobile App and can record voice memo from the app. They both have a free version. Otter.ai recording quality isn't good but transcription isn't bad and there are some pros and cons, perhaps I'll do a walkthrough review. Thanks for the feed back.

Thank u for this ❤ In another video you said, there are writers on substack, that basically write about their life, so .... what themes do you define on the about page then:) and isn't that too broad? Happy to hear your suggestion.
@dotpink12 күн бұрын
It depends on which part of your life that you would be more likely to share. Some people share about their specific diet while some people write about their dating lives. We all have different aspects of life and that's a lot to write about. How to be more "niche" I would suggest don't worry about the about page for now, go ahead to write 10 posts, you will be more likely to find what you are passionate to write about and then give it a summary on your about page. Another tip, send your 10 posts to friends or use chatgpt to brainstorm your about page. Hope this helps. If there's anything else, just let me know.

@@dotpink Thank you ,thats a good approach, to make it the other way round. I will try that! The thing is i already wrote on medium under a pseudonym and it is mostly about writing and note taking and thats ok, and there is a lot to write about, but somehow i have more interests like books i read, or movies i watched or also things that happened to me in my everyday life, that make me think:) and i was wondering, if i need like ten pseudonyms for each interest, or if i can just write about whatever i want. that would be a relief but it is so anti niche, that in the end i guess i would write just for me, as you say, who writes for anyone writes for no one:) or maybe there is another way to niche down, but not tied to themes...hmm... I will definetly check out your content
@dotpink10 күн бұрын
Best luck! I have seen both methods worked. A broader range of topics and then niche down, or a very niche topic first and then going broader. It really depends on what you are writing. The most important thing is keep working on it over a long period of time then you can analyse and get data out of them and then you will likely to have a better direction about what people want to read and what you want to write. It's like in any relationship, it has to work for both.

@dotpinkАй бұрын
CAPTCHA requires additional setup, which could be a separate video, and it’s not necessary for every business. I’m guessing you meant GDPR- Once enabled, an additional checkbox will appear in the form. However, I find the wording can sometimes be confusing for inquiries and clients. Please note, my demonstrations are for guidance only and not intended as legal advice.

Descript is the app that supports Dutch transcription, but only on desktop. That means you will need a computer, it's not available on mobile. Here is a video about Descript:kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHisqJR8o6d6ppIsi=WN7U8ldlximQrc6R I just recorded a video about how to export voice memo and have it transcribed in Descript. I will upload this one soon.

The free version of the application met my needs - great little utility - I NEEDED to print sorted ascending in filename order - filenames only as I needed to compare TWO folders - one of .odt files and one of PDFs exported FROM the .odt's, since they SHOULD match!!! Thanks for this. My 27" iMac can't be upgraded past 10.15 and Apple only sells 24" iMacs!!!! I also have the Apple-branded Samsung 27" Thunderbolt 2nd monitor.

@@dotpink I started in IT in 1970 on RCA Spectra 70 "mainframes" and taught myself Systems level Assembly Language. RCA had their OS written in Japan. It was a better clone of the IBM systems at the time. On my iMac I use a Matias German tactile keyboard closer to the old IBM Selectric typewriters. I HATE Apple keyboards. I'm a fast touch-typist.

Hello again @dotpink....your advice works brilliantly EXCEPT...how do I save the recording transcription as either a Pages doc or a Word doc please? If I click on either 'save to files' or 'save to files as' it comes out as a plain text doc and the words of the transcript also appear in the subject box....so I then have to copy/paste the transcript into a new Pages doc. This is fine, but I will be interviewing people for up to half an hour at a time, so it would be helpful if I could save the transcription into an easily editable format. I've tried clicking on pretty much everything...but nothing seems to work! Sorry to trouble you again....
@dotpink3 ай бұрын
open the transcript in Drafts, click on the menu icon on the top right, if you have Google Doc on your phone, you should find the option Save as a Google doc and other options. you can send the transcript by Mail as well.
