Just look at the sheer and raw emotion between Stefan and Elena I’m sorry but her and Stefan should’ve been endgame yeah there was some tension and buildup with Damon and after they do finally get together they should’ve ended shortly as there was virtually nothing similar between them. Elena and Stefan fought through so much together - the were each others rock and the instant connection and “love that transcends all boundaries” feel was there. They should’ve been endgame- to me Elena’s get together with Damon was just a mere distraction for being away from Stefan for so long, it didn’t make any sense, looked completely out of character for Elena, and was cringey and unrealistic. Anyways at least we do got some beautiful memories stelena for life 😍

It’s funny how Stefan says he fought to get back to Elena while a Ripper when, if you actually watch the show, that’s a complete lie. Stefan did absolutely everything he could to push Elena away, not to keep her safe, but because she got in his way to revenge on Klaus. He even used her in the most cruel way possible, just to get Klaus to BLINK, completely ruining any chance to get back with her. The only time he tried to get her back was when he completely gave up on his revenge, not because he realized his love for her trumped his desire for revenge, but because he knew he’d never actually succeed in killing or even hurting Klaus in any meaningful way. He pushed her into Damon’s arms and knows their relationship falling apart is 100% his fault. He doesn’t even blame Elena for loving Damon, he’s actually somewhat happy Damon’s found someone to love him the way he wants to be loved. Season 4 Stefan is a completely different character than end of season 3 Stefan, because that Stefan accepted Elena loved Damon and just wanted her to be honest about it, but this Stefan absolutely refuses to see that she genuinely did love Damon and chose him, instead blaming it all on the sire bond and not on Elena’s actual feelings. The only way he’d actually believe Elena was genuine was if she was human and love him, while Damon was fine with her either way because she’s still Elena, wether she loves him or not
