Never heard of or seen this movie. I thought it was about a snappy young indian from India who competes in a long distance running race to win.😂

New Zealand master motorcycle builder Burt Munro is famous for setting an under-1,000 cc world record, at Bonneville, on the 26th of August 1967 when Burt was 68 years old. He did this on his Indian Scout which was an early model, the 627th Scout to leave the American factory. The bike had an original top speed of 55 mph (89 km/h), but this did not satisfy Burt, so in 1926 he began to modify the bike. In 1967, his engine was bored out to 953 cc and he set an under 1000 cc class record of 184.087 mph,( 2 way average). To qualify he made a one-way run of 184 mph then later on he re qualified at (190.070 mph)(305.88) km/h, his highest recorded measured mile was 188 mph, (302.557 km/h). In 2014, 36 years after his death, he was posthumously awarded the 1967 record of 296.2593 km/h (184.087 mph) after his son John noticed a calculation error by AMA at that time. This record still stands.

had a 76 kh 500. Put Mikuni carbs and Factory Pipe Products expansion chambers on. When we got the carb tuning correct it gave back 68.5 hp at the wheel. Not bad for 500cc.

I visited the Bonneville Salt Flats last week. It was a bucket list item. What an amazing place. Sixt would not be too happy if they knew what I did with their Toyota Highlander. What a great movie played by a great actor portraying a one of a kind legend who was bigger than life.
