most of my family worked in Northumberland pa. Id say they would agree with your statement. Nothing wrong with hard work like this. It may be dangerous; it had to be done.. but its all my family knew too MY buddy dyrel usta work for coal mine number nine here in northumberland. My family helpt rebuild the glen burn coloery in shamokin way back in the day when it caught fire. 3 angelos passed in the 20 to 30 in a few bad axadents in the mines. They where mostly carpenters but they also did mining back in the day when there wasent alot of other alternatives. God bless and thanks to them and yall who did this kind of work yall made it easer of us to heat our homes and produce electricity. GOD BLESS THE MINERS THROUGH OUT THE WHOLE WORLD. We aprchieate whay yall do thill this day. Sincerely Mr Angelo

@@scottfitch1876 ….Scott I was never a coal miner but I grew up near Brookwood Alabama and had a ton of friends whose Fathers were miners . I’ve been obsessed with coal miner history etc over the past few years for some ODD reason . It’s fascinating as hell to me the entire thing ….✌🏼brother and your video is great 👍.

I spent 44 years underground not in coal ! My grandfather and father worked in the coal mines in Cape Breton Nova Scotia ! There is definitely a brotherhood in the underground work force . You look out for your brothers and they look out you ! We have a saying ,we miners we’re mockers we’re mean mother f#*€ers !

Thanks for the message brother and the like. I was a coal miner for over 16 years. Some of the best working times I had in my life. My wife got her nursing license so I could get out. I miss it sometimes but I missed a lot of time with my three oldest kids. Now I’m a stay at home dad. Now I get to spend more time with my three youngest kids.

Leaving the mines to serve my country feels like betraying my coal miner family. I'm gonna miss it, but I'll be back as soon as I can. Hard way of life that I love. Started in Greene County, Pennsylvania. Who knows what mine I'll end up in when I'm out of the army, but I will end up back underground. Proud to have earned the title "Pennsylvania Coal Miner"
