How long do you give the silicon to cure and do you coat the case with resin to protect it?

@gryffe1690 it usually sets up in about 30 minutes but fully cures in 24 hours. Sometimes, I put a little resin and extra pebbles if the areas on the case need filling in.

One question how is the hookup ratio if the hook is at the front I feel like they’re would be lots of them taking the tail and then it being pulled out of their mouths but that’s just my thought I’m not sure. Awesome fly pattern anyway very cool.
@flytyingzonedavehise26 күн бұрын
@BANDITFISHING I use 2 hooks sometimes. We can only use single hook flies in a lot of my local waters. I like the front hook better because I believe predatory fish eat their prey at the head. I don't like short strikers either. Thank you.
@BANDITFISHING26 күн бұрын
@ thanks for the info I just always imagine they eat like by chasing from behind so the first thing in their mouth is the tail but they are predators so going for their head makes sense too.
@flytyingzonedavehise26 күн бұрын
@BANDITFISHING A lot of critters have spikey fins and such, so going with the grain and eating at the head makes sense. Over the years, I've seen many predatory fish with fish hanging out of their gullet, and not one has had the prey sticking out tail first.

Okay I’ve always wanted to know. How much does it matter the colors and shapes for fish to take a bite on a fly?
@flytyingzonedavehiseАй бұрын
Unfortunately, we cant ask the fish. In my opinion, it depends on various factors. It can really make a difference with heavy fishing pressure, and if the fish are "keying" on size, silhoutte, and color.
