Totally unrelated to the video but I'm getting back into hockey after a long time and looking to get a set of the Bauer gsx leg pads. I'm 24 and 5'8 and my atk would have me in an intermediate large but I'm wondering if I should go for the senior small instead? Sorry again I know this is totally unrelated but I've been watching your videos for a while and respect your opinion. Congratulations on the goal!

Great video brother. Literally watched this video and a couple other reviews and picked up a set of the gen2 in black. Used them for the first time last night. First thing I noticed is how light they are compared to premium pads from just 5-6 years ago. Unbelievable value in these things! Now to grab the trapper and blocker!

@6:00 that's not how goalie interference works, unfortunately. Reading the Hockey Canada Rule Book goes into a lot of detail with this, but basically players are allowed to be in the crease as long as they don't "interfere" with the goaltender's movement while making a save. There are essentially two types of goalie interference. #1, where a player is in the crease and prevents a goalie from making a save (no goal if puck goes in). #2 regular penalty interference that is called just like it would be for a player if you are taken out of the play by an opposing player (penalty)

@@BrittainClay they're much heavier, closure is good. Tbh they're good but I think it's a toss up. Glove is True all the way but warrior is just as good

I saw that video too. Started tying my skates like that, first game came loose and was brutal. Did the double loop when tying them and was much better. Do not recommend it with waxed laces tho, only regular.

Yeah I sweat a lot too and once the sweat reached my eyes I'm done so I actually use an under armour skull wrap. I do have a sweat band and it works it's just kinda bulky under my helmet.

Vogel Hockey Bamboo sweatbands are amazing. I sweat quite and bit and these things work the best and are super soft.

Could I make a slight suggestion.. by no means am I elite. But try at drop ins before the season. Set yourself positionally at the top of the crease and then on breakaway or plays in general try coming out to just above the outer 2nd line and drop back at most to the inner line of the blue paint... you'll find your angles will be tighter and less for the shooter to slip one by when you're too deep in the paint near the goal line. Less to shoot less to score.
