Saw this show in Lillehammer/Lillyhammer last year. Thin sound with no guitars, no bass and one synth. Cheap version of Dexys. Saw fantastic versions in 2003 and 2012.

Watching this video brings back so many happy memories of Dennis. He was one of life’s jovial friendly characters and could fill the room with his presence. Also a GFS president who I recall was always smartly dressed.

Im actually looking for an affordable banjolele in the USA. By affordable I mean under 100$ which seems pretty impossibile to find. I’d like to lean how to play George formby style. Best, Theo

Thanks Lewis, I loved listening to George when I was a kid listening my Dad's old 45' records. I found him on KZbin to introduce my kids and decided it'd be fun to learn when I'm cleaning windows. I thought it'd be easy, but can see from your video it'll take a lot of work. First I've got to get a ukelele. But you've given me a new challenge in life. THanks for your great tutorial. I'll look forward to watching and learning more.

Keep a spray bottle of water handy in case things start to dry out too quickly. Always line up the joint of the tension hoop with the tailpiece location. For appearance sake if nothing else. I always trim mine wet with a new razor blade. The main goal is to refrain from throwing the whole thing across the room. Cheers! Tom in Idaho
