Wow, my starting location is Alexandria as well, and I also take the train up to Long Island! But luckily, my destination town is only 35 minutes from Penn Station, so it is a lot more manageable. However, I mostly drive between those points these days and only use DC/Alexandria and NYP as starting points for much longer journeys on Amtrak throughout the country!

Not yet @@mikeymutual5489 . I've ridden the Crescent from Charlotte and then connected to Buffalo and also the Lakeshore Limited from Toledo eastwards but that's it. I would like to try the cross country trips though.

Hello all. Thank you for watching my video capturing my July 2023 trip to Long Island using Amtrak and the Long Island Railroad. This is the longest video on this channel to date and a lot of effort went into this one. There are two places where I misspoke. I went back and caught the first one, but I missed the second one in my narration. it's Baltimore-Penn Station and not Baltimore-Union Station. Secondly the Long Island Railroad equipment that I road on was a consist of M7 units and not M9 units. Thank you to CommuterTrainFan below for pointing that out. I'm astounded by the knowledge of the viewers in this sector.

Thank you for watching sir. I know some KZbin viewers won't watch a video if it's too long, so as I edited this, I tried to strike a balance between length and capturing this journey.

I’m not quite sure why this ended up in my feed but I really enjoyed your narration throughout the journey.

Point of interest at 16:08. The Virginia Avenue Tower is a two-story, late Victorian railroad interlocking control tower. It was erected circa 1905 as a railroad interlocking station, responsible for mechanically switching trains between the First Street tunnel connection to Union Station and the main Pennsylvania Railroad freight line along Virginia Avenue. Historic Land Mark. Completely renovated by CSX. National Register of Historic Places.

I just found your channel, amd i hope you continue to produce passenger rail content, as your commentary and delivery are both thoughtful and polished. I enjoyed hearing your descriptions of both the new and old rail stations in SLC. I make my way up to SLC from time to time and always use transit to get around. I have a couple of rail videos on my channel that perhaps you may enjoy, as well.

Hey RRFHG. Thank you again for gracing my channel. Yes it was there on the station sign so I had to use it. And yes I did borrow your sword style for this one:-) I didn't have time to create a full narrative, so I tried it out. I personally love what you do, especially with that beaver on the Hudson that one time:-)
