That is a beautiful wallet! Where in Canada are you based? And how much would a wallet like that cost? You don’t have to answer if it’s not convenient at the moment. I can wait until the link is up.😎
@craftandantlerco.5 ай бұрын
We're based in Aurora, Ontario 🇨🇦. The ostrich billfold will be priced slightly higher than our pueblo billfolds due to the premium cost of ostrich leather. We'll let you know when the link is up!

I’ve never seen anyone brag/proud about their crazy horse leather patina. I only see Veg tan leather/Horween patina. Trying to google it but can’t find any evidence of the actual Patina. Like every website will try and shot how 6 months look like, 2 years etc but never once any Crazy Horse selling website shows any evidence. I’m looking at some of amazon option because apparently it is common now for a veg tan leather wallet to cost $70-$150 and I’m not about to spend that much on a wallet. I see this crazy horse leather being advertised durable (yes I can confirm) but patina, 7 months now and my Bourbon Brown or whatever they called haven’t seen any changes yet. My veg tan see different color in like a week. Do these even patina right? Need helps.

Just like vegetable-tanned leather, it does indeed develop a patina over time, although the journey there is somewhat slower. I've had a similar experience with a knife sheath I crafted from red crazy horse leather; over time, it has darkened and gained a distinctive sheen. This transformation is largely due to the blend of natural oils from our skin, exposure to sunlight, and the wear and tear of daily use. When working with crazy horse leather, I've noticed it requires a bit more effort during the burnishing process for the edges to fully absorb the burnishing agent. This is because crazy horse leather is more resistant to absorbing oils and waxes, which contributes to its slower patina development. However, this characteristic doesn't detract from its beauty or durability-it just means we get to witness its gradual and unique aging process, adding character and story to the piece.

Yes, you can skip that part. The jewelers rouge part acts as a honing and polishing step.

I still confuse about this leather, does crazy horse leather and other fullgrain leather like vegtan is the same leather but difference in making process? Or crazy horse leather is more durable to some extent
@craftandantlerco.7 ай бұрын
Crazy horse leather is a leather traditionally used to make horse saddles. What sets is apart is the process used to make it and the final finish. Crazy horse leather has a dull/matte look to it. Hope that helps and if you have anymore questions feel free to reply to this response.

should you condition crazy horse leather or leave it as it is?
@craftandantlerco.9 ай бұрын
Conditioner tends to darken the leather. To maintain the original look, we usually don't apply conditioner. We do use organic leather balm for leather edges, though.

Thank you for the video I need all the help I can get but I have one question and I haven't seen this part yet but you were holding the strop with your hands in the air instead of on the table I would love to ask why? And thank you for your time and video
@craftandantlerco.10 ай бұрын
I was holding the strop in the air just for demonstration purposes. Putting the strop on the table would be better as it's more secure. Thanks for watching our video.

Thanks for asking. We only skive T-slots for a slim billfold but don't skive the edge for consistency in overall thickness.

its a nice video, very calming if you want more views tho i recommend making your shorts faster pace it is possible to make it faster pace while still keeping it calm, just dont focus on one thing for too long. shorten the amount of time you show a certain object to around a second or 2, maybe three. the amount of time you focus on something should be relative to its importance, so if you just make an interesting fact that isnt that long, like this exact short for example, i recommend showing other images of the same thing, just different logos, before showing how it is done, a little more voice lines also doesn't hurt. important to note is that im not actually well versed in this, just have seen a lot of videos that follow this pattern getting a lot of views, also the attention span of everyone is rapidly declining.
