Have camped at Putnam pond with my wife and kids several times years ago. We have some great memories, all good. Putnam pond is off the beaten path, just the way I like it.

Nice and relaxing John. It's an old camp-ground - no wonder it's got so many established sites. A pretty cool tour there. Some nice grub to mate - you got the set up just right for your stay. Good going. Gave a great weekend. Mark

You're welcome, I'm glad the video was helpful in your decision! The DEC just combined point comfort with little sand point campground to form Piseco lake campground I just made a new video, combining the two together if you would like to check it out, it's my latest long form video. Thank you very much for watching. I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. Hope to see you soon. All the best JC.

The best sites are out near 244. You can find great sites that are right on the water and close to showers and toilets. We stay at Moffits 3-5 times a year.

Im curious, how do they collect fees for their service, membership maybe? Definitely something for me to think about. A contribution would be appreciated to help absorb some of the cost of making these videos. But it is certainly not necessary for anyone who takes the time to watch and comment on my videos. Thank you for the video, it is very helpful! I wish you would videotape the bathrooms/showers and if there's a sink to wash dishes. I'm also wondering if the water in the showers is hot. Oh, and if they have kayaks for rent, how many and how do we find out the pricing :)))
@JCharlesoutdoors16 күн бұрын
You can check the New York State Department of environmental conservation website. There's plenty of information about the campground. I do believe they have rental canoes, on the subject of photographing inside the bathrooms. It can be touchy when the bathrooms are open for business and there are lots of people in the campground when I'm there mid week and nobody's around I will make a pass through the men's room, but frankly in my experience with DEC campgrounds bathrooms are kept very clean. The water is plenty hot. The weekends may be problematic. Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a comment

I see what you're saying, very interesting, I don't agree with any kind of violence, especially towards women. I suppose it could have something to do with the artillery battery at Camp hero not far down the road you could check out my video on that if you'd like, but more than likely, it would have something to do with vegetation growing on the hills near the campground. remote sites the best in my opinion
@JCharlesoutdoors16 күн бұрын
I have to agree. The remote sites look very nice, I didn't get a chance to go out and check them out on this trip, but it doesn't give me a good reason to go back to Putnam Pond in the future but rather than pay for the remote sites I might consider just doing some disperse camping up there. Great video, thank you for sharing! I've can't believe how many times I have driven past this campground and didn't look twice at it. They need water sites
@JCharlesoutdoors2 ай бұрын
Hi, thank you for watching. I appreciate your comment. I think that when they designed this campground, they wanted to keep people off the water for conservation reasons, there were a few sites i.e. site 47 which has a path leading down to the lake, but the campsite was way up on a hill draining away from the lake . I could recommend Fish Creek pond campground in Saranac region of the Adirondacks. They have over 300 sites mostly all on the water or the creek. I did a site tour and camping video from that campsite. Highly recommend you check it out if you haven't already it's a very popular one.
