Honestly, I really hope this video goes viral because your way of explaining everything you did to level up is like a step-by-step play-by-play. It was wonderfully put together and articulated. I wish you the best in your channel and you now have a new follower.

I’m a new RN working med/surg. I have 6 patients and most of them are high acuity/total care. I feel like I’m in a nursing home. My orientation is only 10 weeks. I’m in my 7th week and I feel like I’m ready to quit. I work 13+ hours most days without a lunch. Why should I have my license on the line and be burnt out each day because they don’t want to have lower patient to nurse ratios?

3 twelve-hour days gives you four days off. I have to disagree with a 9-5 being better...that's 5 days a week and and few extra hours. I work from 7a-7p, three days a week, and I still have time to go out and do something. With a 9-5, you have to ask for permission to take off for appointments scheduled M-F. I enjoy my four days off, because nursing is very difficult, I don't necessarily like bedside nursing, but I am gonna tweak my career soon.

Dear Sharday, thank you so much for sharing your experience. I got my first job as a RN April of this year, and as lovely and supportive as my team is, being newly qualified is so rough and isolating some times. Constantly learning on the job, getting slack for being slower than other nurses, holding so many lives in my hands alone for 12h because we're always short staffed... And i feel like I'm the only one who struggles while all my other colleagues just get on with it and still manage everything flawlessly. Thank you for helping me feel less alone 🙏🏻

This is a good video, I agree with alot of things that you've said I'm currently a CNA and I'm in school for nursing, my advice to anyone who has considered a career in nursing is, be a CNA first at least 1 year that way you know what your getting yourself into, and also you have to deal with alot in nursing toxic backstabbing coworkers, disrectful patients and family members. and inconsiderate management. The list goes on. Thanks for posting this.
