Discovered this song about 6 months after cleaning up from a 20 or so year Drug addiction. Man! I cried my fucking eyes out. My Dad, who was also my best friend, died at the hight of my addiction, 2 months before my 21st birthday. He would take me with him to work as a kid too. He was an engineer, with dirty overalls and a hard hat. I wanted to be like him. I remember the defeat in his eyes of not being able to “save” his youngest son. I am 19 years Clean now, Daddy. You have 2 Grand sons, Tyler 18 and Liam 17 and a little fireball of a granddaughter named Kait 12. I tell them stories about you. You are the wisest man I have ever met. Please know that no-one could save me but myself. I love you, Dad… Till we meet again, old man.

We only get one dad unfortunately we only truly realise that when they are gone. My biggest regret is that my dad never met his grandson. The pain will never leave me. All the best to you my friend.

@Sean McConn it was re-released on December 12th 2005 and peaked at number 1 for almost 2 weeks but lost out to shayne ward for the Xmas number 1 that year.
