I once saw Michael Atherton interview Shane Warne , and he said words to the effect , ' Shane you are so competitive and when you retired from cricket , you didn't take up photography or something like that , you took up golf ' ....One suspects that Atherton has never met Don McCullin , or even has seen his photographs !

There is no doubt in my mind that you did make a difference by risking your own life to capture the true horrors of war. Moreover, you did so with brutal honesty and compassion. Now, in your well earned retirement, capturing the beautiful and haunting images of the Somerset landscape under brooding skies is a perfect antidote to the ghastliness and brutality of war. You should be proud, not only of your work, but also for retaining your sanity after seeing and enduring such horrors over so many years. I hope that you continue to enjoy the gentle art of landscape photography for many more years. Alun

You have represented the downtrodden victim's case Mr. McCullin, over & over again. it's the juries & judges of opinion & policy who do not look close enough or feel enough to ensure (as is the obnoxious & empty phrase of 'lessons have been learned) that we move together to question the rhetoric of war as a solution of conflict at the beginning rather than after it has begun - but thus far that seems not to be in the nature of those in power and those so eager to participate.

Don you are amazing, you've probably, one way or another experienced ptsd but you are extremely humble. But all the same you've brought to light the suffering that human beings can inflict on one another. As of today your pictures are ever more a reminder of what can happen if humanitarian consciousness is thrown away. So glad you've been able to find respite in your new landscape projects, best wishes to you Sir

Astonishing photos. It's hard to imagine someone opting to go to war and record it like this. Just simply unbelievable that McCullin could work so intensely under fire. Taking photographs of this quality in a war zone and coming out alive is nothing short of miraculous. McCullin is a remarkable man in so many ways. The quality of the photographs is simply hard to believe.

I saw him give a talk in London in 1991 just before I started my career as a war cameraman. His book 'Unreasonable behavior' needs to be standard reading for all. The man is brilliant.

Fantastic photography! You are a great photographer and each of your wonderful photographs captures a moment in history. I wish you much success. You are becoming more enlightened every day. Like you said we learn more every day. The more we learn the more we realize how little we know. We see life through the filters of our own beliefs, values, thoughts, upbringing and understanding. We continue to grow in understanding throughout our life. Stay curious lovely lady! I hope to see many more great photographs of your work in the future.

there isnt a moment in history where murder rape and pillage [ the same as preying on others weaknesses ] have not run rampant around the globe. take the steppes 4 example, G . Khan was the all time king so far to date. his [ 1 man ] dna is all over asia . nice video , you presented it well and seemed comfortable and confident . 13+ mins is a world of time when it comes to keeping me captivated , that aid came from the captures of ur work shown. some i have seen, many others not.
