Xt 125s will do a genuine 70+mph if well serviced. Running out of puff at 45 would definitely indicate a blocked main jet. Clean and balance the carb, air filter and see how she goes then. The XT is a very underrated bike.

I’m not sure why your bike only does 45MHP I’m 6”1 and I’m not heavy but I’m able to get 70-80 even 90 mph comfortably on mine

My first 125 cc bike and i will never regret it. Ride is smooth as butter on a road and even in terrain. It never failed me because I took good care of it. (little advise)

Looks like a slip on to me. No reason to put a full system on a 125 :p

My Honda C90 scooter does 45. There is something wrong with this bike; or you weigh far more than you stated.

Very nice review on this one. I have read some about this motorbike, seems very light (about 110kg weight which is nice), brakes are good, engine is 125cc, with 20mm carb though the problem is that here in Greece all of the XT125Xs have to comply with the Euro 2 standards so Yamaha has modified the motorbike in order to perform less powerful but not producing too much exhaust fumes. But I guess an aftermarket exhaust, a racing filter and maybe a slightly bigger carburetor (for example 22mm or 24mm) will improve it I guess.

ANTICH 26 I’ve managed to get 90-95 however I’m only getting 12-15 miles a gallon it’s done 140k miles and still tanking on

The tester weight 120kg which explain the lower speed. At a weight or 70/80kg you can expect 110km/h or 68mph

Sputnik_Spaten /Spaten in the uk its 17 you can ride a 125 unless you dont want hassle from the police or if your not from the uk yeah get one

Thanks for the Information. But I am from germany. In germany you can make your "A1"-Licence (bikes up to 15HP and 125ccm) when you are 16 yr old.

nah, the UK used to be in the EU when most EU countries have been already been having this kind of system, they always liked to be odd and keep their traditions (think about their religion, measures (like pounds, mph), their currency etc.)
