I started the Dune universe at 12 when my dad bought me Dune2000. Played every Dune game after and even read the books in my adulthood. Now I', nearing my 40's and my plan for the next week off is to get high as hell and play this game :)

Great! I play this game on friend's computer in my childhood! My own computer also can run Dune 2 but has BW monitor (green luminophore, who remember) and no soundcard at all - I prefer to see that colorful picture. Surprisingly, but today game don't look like too aged at visual... But controls, of course, far of modern standards, ordering units one by one etc...

Why would they call it Dune 2000 when the story takes place like 20,000 years into the future?

This was the first true RTS (with basebuilding) game ever made, so it should be in the guiness record book

i actually prefer this version over amiga because it has music more voices specific to the house especially when sandworm comes or an enemy from another house is coming to attack and then music changes to combat music
