The second part of this song is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. It leaves me in tears every time, very few things are able to do that.

Years ago I had a bunch of tape this album being one of them.. my aunt stole them from me (GD, Monkees, Tom Petty) now I was only a child we're talking single digit age... And she stole them and then denied it even though we found them in her tape stack at her apartment.. I never did get them back... But Many decades later (seriously like 40 years later) I had to live with my aunt for a short while.. and guess what was in her garage.... All her tape cassette books... I finally got my tapes back....

Interesting, although I can see why it didn't make the cut. Not as rich as most of what they play. Just not enough there.

Originally heard this version on a Warner Bros sampler LP album (music from different artists) from '72 or so called "The Big Ball". Finally made it on to a Dead compilation album. Excellent; reminds me of my long lost twenties.

This version on the greatest hits I loved when grew up. Brother had this cd. From looking it up this six min version seems like it has been edited down and from a longer 15 min version. I guess they cut it down to the best parts. Longer version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGWQhWWpgcSMjLM

Out of all their studio albums “The Grateful Dead” (1967) to their Last Unfinished Studio Album (1995), “Built to Last” (1989) is my favorite Grateful Dead album.
