Showing my age here but if you had internet access when this was out. You could play a 3D sandbox game and you could create and upgrade your own Metabot game online. You could save it and play a story but it was like what Roblox is today.

They actually lost the copyright on medabots and a mobile game maker got it for his game. They have tried to get it back without any luck and want to do more with the show but are stuck at the moment.

Man remember when Naughty Dog used to have a big resume of series under their belt BEFORE they became only know for a dumb idea in Uncharted 4, a sequel to a game no one asked that, the director of said game being involed with the live action version of the first game and all they have is just Last of Us 1 and 2 remasters and a new game with an unattractive female lead? Honestly, I can see why the show didn't make it being how it was boxed between 2 big hits. Did you mind and Pokémon? Yes, those 2 shows could not carry on without the dynamics of the 2 characters more or less filling in the blanks for the monsters. They were supposed to work with as for this metabot. Yeah, I remember watching it. Was really not half bad. It was pretty decent. But I. Think that's why disappeared into obscurity. Is because there were 2 shows that were written for children their grasp. And that means there was very little need for any major big deep emotional connection. Whatsoever never been a fan of Pokémon. Didn't care for it then don't care for it now. However, if metabot was ever to come back, one of the good ways to bring it back is probably haven't co-signed with a card game? I wouldn't recommend trying to go on. Its own already so many card games that would be hard to competeat. There's one piece car game now. There's yugioh Magic the Gathering. And I think once upon a time then attempted the digimon card game and they did not last very long. I think there are been a few other attempts at card games right? Other companies and they did not last very long on their own. One piece is probably 1 of those. Niche, kind of things. It's actually took an pretty good hold over here in America. But. If it's anything like Magic the Gathering or yeah, yeah, it's only a matter of time before the Bryce does not match the demand cause a lot of people don't play the card games Anymore because of the prices. Just like a lot of people don't watch metabot. The fans were lost because it was between. 2 shows that I'm all-seeing gonna say. Probably couldn't never carry themselves if it wasn't for their time slots. The only were that good because kids were able to watch him while being made to do their homework. While this was on, I did not grump as a kid per se her in the metabot. I grew up in the older era somewhat. Don't get it wrong. I got to see metabot in my somewhat older teens to late adult age. I understood it and I grasped it's just like I said, I'm just like I said, I'm just throwing it out there. I think the reason why it did not make it is because it touched on deeper subjects. Is that a teenager or an adult could grasp? If they're into anime and Monga, it makes a pretty decent. Good card game, still again. Unlike Pokémon and Digimon where there was crazy room for improvement, Medabots was rigorously designed for fluid movement, in the simplistic depictions of the bots and even simpler people Think you can always just add detail without sacrifice? spectrobes was a happy time for me

Great video that I think covered the meat of the games. The only reason I can think of for Rallen and Jeena being sent to deal with the Krawl is because they have the Prizmod and no other officers do. I'd imagine the the knowledge required to make more Prizmods would be in the Kaio system where they originate from. I remember loving Spikan as well, and when he became Spikanor all I could think about was how much fun my new "wolverine" spectrobe would be. His basic attack combo of right claw, left claw, tail spin for the finish was good fun and the charged attack good enough for taking out enemies from a distance. I found I had to use the dash plenty in battle with him in Beyond the Portals to make it work for him. I remember losing my copy of the 1st game and being mildly upset about it. So when I saw Beyond the Portals I was so happy and that when I started playing it was as you said 1st game improved in every way. I also remember seeing Origins trailer for the first time and thinking that it was a great big step in making Spectrobes what they wanted it to be. I do recall when playing it being disappointed about the lack of how many Spectrobes there were to choose from at first but given the changes made to how battles were carried out and the story being told I think it was overall solid. Seeing the GEO Spectrobe cutscene at the end was marvellous. Really put in perspective of how amazing this game could look without hardware restrictions of a DS. I absolutely loved the concept/marketing artwork of Spectrobes they used on the covers of the game. If I could pick a Spectrobe to start with from each property (types) Corona - Ojimaru line, for Flash - Ryza line and for Aurora - Shogyo line. Of course there are others that are a close 2nd place to those three. In regards to GEOs I think the dev team did really well to give all an equal level of awesomeness. If Disney gave Spectrobes a well deserved chance again and support they could fill a gap I see commonly in monster taming games (simplistic graphics aka 8 bit/low quality 3D). There are other unique traits that Spectrobes had that could make it stand out like the custom battle parts feature and the incubators where you could directly interact with your Spectrobes. I also liked that I could just stockpile minerals (food) and level boost a brand new Spectrobe to combat readiness for the main story. Alternatively getting a perfect excavation meant your child form could immediately become an adult. Rallen's and Jeena's design were good enough and I did think they were cool. Also the casualness of the games meant you could use any Spectrobe in nearly any situation if you adjusted your playstyle. Sorry for the essay. TLDR; Combat was basic but got clearer over time with each game. GEOs are awesome. Character artworks were all amazing, shame about hardware limitations. I think it deserves another shot. Unique features of excavating/awakening, raising, battling and customising your character and Spectrobes are enough to set it apart, and secure a spot in the monster collecting niche. Casualness of the story makes it very approachable for outsiders. If you do happen to plan to do another Spectrobe video I gladly look forward it.

Yeah fuck them dogs but Legacy of Goku 2 and Buu's fury are still goated and while I am sick of repeating the same DBZ arcs over and over and over again, at least Kararot expanded on the DBZ lore by adding in things that flowed well with canon. Still wished for GT to get some more love more so for the Baby and Shadow dragon arcs and the movies but still.

I borrowed this game from someone and beat it in around 30 minutes flat. I thought the first Legacy of Goku was a pretty awful game for that reason. decades later i found out i actually accidentally spedrun it.

Its funny how u mention the dinosaur king song being catchy and it immediately went off in my head earlier in the video when u showed spectrobes and dinosaur king release date a month apart. I honestly didnt know it had a game i only saw the cartoon and didn't think anything else i might try it out later but man spectrobes was fun still have the wii game somewhere in the closet.

This game really set the standard for this type of game, One Step from Eden and others would use a similar type of design.
