The cars are really wide to handle a lot of passengers and luggage. It uses 4 ft 8+1⁄2 in (1,435 mm) standard gauge.

AirTrain is now $8.25 payable via a Metrocard or now OMNY tap to pay via phone or card.

You only have to pay $8.25 (using MetroCard or OMNY) if you are at either the Jamaica or Howard Beach station. The rest of the stations are free from paying. To save money, I recommend taking a nyc bus route that will take you to JFK airport. That way you have fun riding the AirTrain for free. Avoiding to pay the $8.25 fare :). Hope this helped

@@jprodigyyy The bus can be a challenge if you have large suitcases or have issues with stairs. Using the Subway or LIRR offers step-free access to/from the airport and also saves time. I can get to/from JFK from Upper Manhattan in 60-90 minutes via rail.

That’s what’s called a train meet. A double header involves two engines pulling one train, which only happens on push-pull consists, Amtrak, or broken trains

This was taken with an old Blackberry camera in 2007 -- the iPhone was just released that year. My current phone (Pixel 6 Pro) has a 4K camera. Times change.

With the cream Mary's photo they need to get rid of it switch get new old phones like the old Queen Mary's photos and put them on the Queen Mary too and it'll look more better and more functional and more prettier

Brought tears to my eyes, even for a frequent QE2 traveler....QM2 is the last link we've got to that wonderful lady, and this experience must've been incredible! To be on one icon as another one sails underneath....such a welcome, fit for a Queen indeed!

I just happened to be in S.F. on business that weekend and brought my girlfriend along and we had the best surprise when we were told the QM2 would be passing through the Bay. It was an awesome sight. Once it docked we were able to walk up to it and it was a massive sight. Great memory.
