I was born and raised here and I love it. Rattlesnakes don't want to mess with you! You have to do something pretty dumb to get bit. More importantly, we have a mountain lion that has attacked peoples dogs. Right up by those trails that you guys were hiking on, a mountain lion attacked her dog while it was on leash and under her control. She played tug-of-war and lost. Never saw her dog again. Also on those trails we have had coyotes attack people's dogs, again while on leash, and kill them. Last week I saw a couple walking their toddler at sunset and the little kid was literally 20+ feet behind mom and dad by himself. Not a good idea! Notice that when hiking on our trails or on the bicycle path, virtually everyone says hello and is friendly. Other than the main drag getting busy with traffic it's still a really nice quiet little town.

Well Danny & Deb, that's an odd combination, Paramount & Hearst Castle in under 12 minutes... Having been to both places, and knowing Paramount inside-n-out having worked there over the years, it deserves a bit better presentation. Having spent 40 years in HOLLYWOOD as both a writer and studio historian, I can well believe that the VIP tour they give you leaves out quite a bit of its physical studio history, the buildings and stages... when I first came to the lot in 1976, that water tank by the blue-sky backing used to be Paramount's western town set as seen on TV's BONANZA and many other western shows and movies. In fact, Paramount was for half of its original history was half the size it is now... when Lucille Ball owned Desilu's old RKO lot next door,, she sold it to Paramount in the mid-1960's, and all they had to do was knock down the dividing wall! But it was more than an adjacent studio they got for their money, it was an absolute bonanza in getting two of its biggest movie franchises from what were once Desilu TV shows, Mission Impossible and Star Trek... I hope your guide pointed that little fact out? Anyway, Danny & Deb you both have good screen appeal very natural, I'd lose the shades though... there are so many travel blogs out there I commend your enthusiasm and spirit. Having made so many documentaries myself and assisted on many others regarding HOLLYWOOD and the movie industry, not to mention numerous other topics, I hope you'll forgive me for chiming in with my 2-cents worth of advice.... But if you want to take on further HOLLYWOOD subjects I'd be happy to help you with the research. Again, you both have good voices and presentation, a lot better than others on KZbin with thousands of subscribers. So I wish you the very best in getting a lot more, you deserve it!

Is St. George going to run out of water? Local officials now say the area will run out of water within a decade. In response, they have taken drastic-and controversial-steps to ensure future hydration: a $1.3 billion to $2 billion, 140-mile pipeline to retrieve 27 billion gallons of water out of the Colorado River that feeds into Lake Powell This says it all. This town is going to get decimated.
