Very beautiful video. Have you visited any other lighthouses?
@johnroman609811 ай бұрын
Very different than in the seventies. There are two boilers. One is on it's side. The sand has really moved in. The standing boiler went down to it's bottom about fifteen feet. The wooden sides were collapsed at the bottom.

I can't tell you what seeing this video has done for me. We had a place on the Platte from 1956-1969 or so (you go by it in this video at about the 33:39/43.04 point). I practically grew up there on summer weekends when my dad would pile us all into the car and off we'd go for the two-hour drive to Honor. Circumstances forced my dad to sell the property and I've felt that loss ever since. Whenever I get up that way, I go down the road past our old place, wishing I could buy it back and have it in the family once again. Thank you so much for the look back and the memories. Blessings to you.

Yes the site is a landfill, but it's the landfill from when they dredged the port. I think there is some trash underneath but it's not like the whole site it full of trash. They're still up to shady shit though as they want to build dozens of tiny homes and buss all the homeless from downtown out there. Out of sight, out of mind eh? Miami

The QW trail needs some reworking in some areas. The tops of the every elevation point are to narrow. Maybe more donations will get them motivated or more experienced trail builders. Thank for content!

I really love the music throughout the video. The music at the end has a touch of The Good The Bad and The Ugly. I was waiting for her to say," not as good as my mama's but good." We did the BBQ loop and to be honest the brisket is more roast than smoky BBQ . Even though Texas is known for the brisket I think their pulled pork and sausages was really good. Next time you go to Austin check out the bats. Millions come out at dust from under the Congress Ave Bridge. I enjoy watching your videos. The editing and camera work is great. I really LOVE your co-star to!!!!

I'm worried about sharks, especially if I spear a snapper. Should I worry?
@vanderkooyIMAGES2 жыл бұрын
There definitely are sharks, but sightings are somewhat rare and attacks are even rarer. Bring a diving knife if you are particularly worried. As of Dec. 24 here have been 81 shark attack bites in 2021 in Florida (9 fatal shark attack, 6 provoked) publicly reported and verified.
@johnroman609811 ай бұрын
I was there dozens of times in the seventies when the wreck wasn't covered with sand and I only saw one shark. It looked like a five foot sand shark. The shark left and a school of huge tarpon moved in. AWESOME!

@vanderkooyIMAGES3 жыл бұрын
Delray is very nice! The real estate market has gone crazy in south florida though so you may consider buying just outside the action zone depending on the lifestyle you are going for.

Unfortunately I do not believe dogs are allowed inside the park itself. Only the north end of the beach, north shower area, and parking lot - and only during dog beach hours.
