He had crossed the Orion’s Gate, the legendary portal among the stars, a secret known only to a chosen few, capable of transporting those who dared through dimensions, to places forgotten by gods and men. Now, that flickering planet called to him. The light of the Orion’s Gate, that glow he had chased for years, held a promise of something more profound than mere travel: it promised peace. A place where chaos and war were distant memories, where the soul could find rest. But this gate was not for everyone. Only those who truly understood the weight of the universe and its endless possibilities could cross it and discover what lay beyond. He closed his eyes for a moment, feeling his heartbeat align with the rhythm of the light. Was he ready? He had searched for so long, through barren worlds and forgotten civilizations, just to stand here, on the edge of the unknown, with the promise of a new life before him. Everything inside him screamed to leap forward, to embrace the unknown, to trust the mysterious force that had led him to this point. He found himself in a sterile room, the walls a blinding white. He looked up at the panoramic window and held his breath. An immense expanse of snow stretched as far as the eye could see, a white desert under a starry sky. He had landed on an icy planet, light years from home. Guided by a faint radio signal, Alex donned his spacesuit and ventured into the base's corridors. It was an underground structure, carved into the ice, a labyrinth of tunnels and rooms. After days of exploration, he found what he was looking for: a control room where a group of scientists and engineers worked tirelessly to keep the base alive. They were pioneers, the first to colonize this icy planet, an ambitious mission to explore the boundaries of the solar system. Welcomed with caution, Alex soon earned their trust. With his engineering knowledge, he helped improve the base's systems and make it even more self-sufficient. In return, he learned to grow plants in hydroponic greenhouses, recycle water, and generate geothermal energy. The underground base became their new home. They built common areas, laboratories, and even a small greenhouse where they grew herbs to add a touch of familiarity to their sterile environment. The radio signal Alex had picked up became a beacon, attracting more and more scientists and engineers eager to participate in this space adventure. Over time, the base expanded, digging deeper and deeper into the ice. Subsequent generations, born and raised in this cold and inhospitable environment, developed a deep connection to their icy planet. And as they looked out the window, towards the immensity of the white desert, they dreamed of a future where humanity could expand its horizons and colonize new worlds.

A lone explorer, drawn by the glimmer, enters the structure. Endless corridors open before him, illuminated by an artificial light that seems to imitate an unseen sun. Murals depicting alien cities and surreal landscapes decorate the walls, telling stories of a glorious past now forgotten. At the end of the corridor, a central chamber: in the center, a hologram projects images of a lush planet, a lost paradise. The explorer approaches, touching the image with trembling hands. A sigh, then silence. But he is not alone. In a corner of the room, hidden in the shadows, lies an alien artifact, a crystal sphere pulsating with an inner light. As the explorer approaches, the hologram intensifies, showing scenes of an advanced civilization at war with dark forces. The artifact, the hologram seems to suggest, is the key to understanding the fate of this civilization and perhaps, the fate of the explorer himself. Holding the crystal sphere in his hands, the explorer feels a sense of wonder and fear. He feels alone, yet part of something much greater. He closes his eyes and grips the artifact tightly. When he opens them, the hologram has changed: instead of the lush planet, there is a sparkling nebula. And at the center of the nebula, a new tower, identical to the one he is in. A shiver runs down his spine. Has he just created a new world? Or is it just an illusion?
