Why we should multiply with 50

Because we want to eliminate y. 50 is with y in one equation, so if we multiply y of other equatuion with 50, then it will also be 50y. And then subtracting equations 50y of one equation is cut by 50y of other equation. And in the end we are left with x term only, from where we can find value of x.
