Not bad, choreography wise. He opened with classic aikido moves, then the sword. Minor nit: he didnt do a chiburi (blood shake) before sheathing at the end. Never, ever, sheathe a dirty blade ... that's a no no.

Why does that guy in black look like the samurai's face described in japanese arts😂

One of my favorite stories about O Sensei was from Trevor Legget who was studying karate in Japan and riding the subway when another rider began assaulting others. Legget, wanting to use his striking skills, pushed his way through the crowd and found the violent man lying on a seat with his head in O Sensei's lap, crying, as the great master stroked his hair like a child. Legget was embarrassed by his lack of ability and judgement in comparing himself to the great master.

Sorry, but this is stupid. All sword users, when slashing, slash in a diagonal direction, not vertical. You can't dodge it by just moving back your shoulder.

This teacher's Aikido looks different than your typical Aikido demo. He's a lot more direct and efficient and is actually in shape.

I haven't seen this movie but the use of the katana was weak and far from reality. You can see real sword fighting in Zatovichi and Hidden Blade movies. And professionally in the movie Hidden Blade

It’s still a very solid samurai movie. Like you said, it’s no Twilight Trilogy standard but the story is better than most modern samurai films.

I saw this movie. Is based on a Kurosawa's script about a master swordsman Ronin in search of work who accept duels with swords made of wood, gaining the bets money. The samurais here are after him accusing of cheating. He tries to dissuade them to fight but in the end he wipes them all.
