I did the 40:1 fuel MIX to my STRUMM 52c and the pisto/rings as well as the top cylinder was damaged

Who would dump engine oil derectly into the fuel tank then add gas ? Not a good idea.
@robertshorthill68369 күн бұрын
The best way to figure a 40:1 mix is a 3.2 oz bottle of quality 2 cycle mix to 1 gallon of non- ethonol gas. 1 gallon is 128 oz. Divide 128 by 3.2 and the answer is 40, 40:1. Conveniently mix oil comes is 3.2 oz bottles. Just put a gallon in a jug, dump in the oil and shake it up. 2 gallons would be 2 bottles of 3.2, etc. 50:1 is 2.56 oz oil to 1 gallon.

You really should be mixing more oil into you fuel. More oil will give your saw more power, obviously don't over do it. Between 40:1 and 32:1 is best. And never use pre-mix fuels!

I have both, I think the 250 is a better saw, seems to be better built, and it has 2 bar nuts.

I bought one new in '23 and have been very satisfied with the performance. I have other saws that I use for limbing and regular cutting. The 391 is used when cutting large maple, oak or Tamarac pine. The power of this saw is tremendous and I wouldn't need anything bigger for my use. I'm 71 years old and keep up physical stamina by using my saws 2-3 times per week. This saw is my ideal machine. Thanks for your info about air filter replacement- I'm buying one tomorrow!

261 also has a winter shutter. I love my 261c with a 20" bar. Well balanced comfortable saw.

just memorize 40:1 is 3.2 oz. of 2-stroke oil to 1 gallon gas … 50:1 is 2.6 oz. of 2-stroke oil to 1 gallon gas … best to use gas WITHOUT ethanol and use 95 octane gas (available at Shell Oil gas stations)

Serial number for Stihl chainsaw My MS461 was made in Germany, my MS180 and MS310 was USA. • If the first digit in the serial number is a 1 then it was manufactured in Germany • If it’s a 2 or a 5 it was manufactured in the United States • A 3 means it’s manufactured in Brazil • Serial starting with 8 is Chinese made • Starting with 4 means made in Austria

This video is very confusing, or just plain wrong to the extent that it should be removed and corrected. The MS391 has a decompression valve, the MS362 does not. Both models SHOULD come with a 25" bar (and chain). The MS362C (NOTE THE "C") comes with the automatic carburetor adjustment for optimal rpms, the MS391 does not have this. The MS362 turns about 1000 rpm faster than the MS391. The MS362 comes with a better air filter than the air filter on the MS391. The MS391 has a plastic body, the MS362 comes with a metal body. The MS362 has retaining nuts on the chain adjustment cover so they don't get lost in the woods, the MS391 does not have this. Each model has a different sprocket - the MS362 has a better sprocket and bearing. The MS362 has ¼ turn screws on the air filter cover, the MS391 has threaded screws (more difficult and time consuming to remove air filter cover. The MS362 is lighter than the MS391 and a Caterpillar D11. The MS362 has a felling line, the MS391 not. Both chainsaws are very good and the MS391 will work fine on the farm and at the house. The features on the MS362C are meant to increase output/productivity and reduce downtime. Carb-yer-ator? 🤣 Earth first, we can log the other planets later.

I know nothing about the 362 but think ill stick with my 391. Yes its heavy but cutting 40 inch red oak it handles like a dream. A sharp chain and let the saw do the work.

Around 6:30 it says when the engine gets to much fuel and not enough air it causes a lean condition. Its wrong its a RICH condition, not lean. A lean condition is to much AIR!

A 261 is a professional saw designed to run day after day and be rebuilt the 271 and 291 if something major needs to be fixed your better off just buying a new one because the repair cost will have you almost to the same price as a new saw

@@NorthCountryOutlaw i have a 180 291 and 261. The 180 is my around the house saw or if my wife comes out to help cut firewood. The 291 is modded and pulls a 20 inch bar with ease. The 261 with 18 inch bar is my newest saw and my go to saw. Between the 3 saws they average 10 to 15 cords a year

No chainsaw has a zero emissions rating. Even an electric saw, will be flinging oil particles off the bar. Interesting that the 261 in the US/Canada, the power output appears to be 2.8kW, whereas in Europe it’s a 3kW saw. The the older 260 used to be 2.8kW.
@johnlivingston48313 ай бұрын
Ill keep my 250 any day. Probably ten years old . A couple of carbs through the years and still going strong. No disrespect to the 251 but when the saw runs out of gas you are ready for a rest anyway when cutting firewood continuously.
