Fantastic job. Really nicely done. I'm looking to do one myself the same as yours. How much was the initial cost of buying and restoration cost if you don't mind me asking. Currently saving so would like a ball park figure. I know that you've spent hundreds of man hrs on it. Thanks

Thanks, I bought the car off eBay for about £1300 and the total cost of the restoration came to around £7500. Hope that helps.

Thanks, l wanted a GT6 but chose the Midget because the initial cost of buying the project car was a lot less. Now I’ve got a bit of experience if I get the urge to do another it would be a probably a TR6. Certainly take the plunge and get started it’s great fun.

Lovely work of art. I'm playing with Midgets myself, experimenting with rear-end and transmission combinations for something I can take on the motorway, and not get squished, like a bug. There is an adapter available (rivergate5speed) that allows a Datsun 210 5-speed transmission to be fitted. Very worthwhile upgrade, I think. ...not that there is anything wrong with a stock 4-speed. I have a couple of these on the bench, and am now inspired by your video to eventually open them up and have a look. Thank you!

It’s taken me 3 years to get here I remember where your at and it seemed to be endless but I just took one job at a time. I also swapped the jobs around, a bit of rusty metalwork and then a break on renovating something mechanical, so I didn’t get too bored and bogged down. Now I get excited every time I walk in the garage. Hopefully be on the road this year

Many thanks. I sprayed the car in the garage over a few warm days last October, its taken a while for me to get around to making and posting the video. I did no special pre to the garage I just swept the floor and drained the compressor of water, I didn't have an extractor fan so I raised the roller shutter a couple of inches and opened the back door. I then wiped the body down with panel prep and a tac rag and sprayed. I allowed about 20 - 30 mins between coats. As I said in the video the LVLP gun was fantastic, once I had set it up, it applied the paint in a very controlled way, with almost no overspray. Spraying the car was something that I was very apprehensive about, but I really wanted to be able to say that I had done every thing myself, so I had to try doing it. I am so pleased I did. It was never going to be a 3 to 4K professional job, but I've achieved a very acceptable finish and I'm over the moon with the result. All I can say is go for it !!

I have watched some of your videos and I find them very inspiring. You have done a wonderful job. I have an A.H. Sprite in a very similar condition as yours. Even same the colour. I'm at the early stages of the stripdown and I hope you do not mind answering a few questions. What make/type of rotisserie and welding machine did you use ?. Also I think I heard you saying you used 1.5mm metal to repair a panel. Did you use this thickness on all the repairs ?. Thank you for posting the videos. They are a great help to me. Best regards,,,,John.
