My first bike was an 01-02 R6. Learned how to ride, made a lot of riding mistakes but it never let me down. Ended up getting bigger carbs and opened up the exhaust all the way through and all I can say is I miss it so much. Haven't rode in 4 years and am looking to get another. You did great with this one.

Any suggestions on how to remove a seized supercharger bolt? Not sure if it’s safe to use heat (maybe an induction heater?) since the heads are aluminum? Great video though. I’ll be using this as one of my reference videos when I do my timing chain. Might as well replace the valve cover gaskets as well.
@EngineInformant17 күн бұрын
@@dlee6985 eesh well stainless bolts mixed with aluminum are a bad mix. Heat should suffice with a yellow or blue hand torch.

Hello, my vehicle model is 5VX-FZ6. Do I need to disassemble the entire engine when replacing the shift fork? Because when I am riding, if the engine is in second gear, there is a chance that it will jump back to neutral when accelerating and It jumps back to second gear again, causing frustration. I have ruled out the clutch factor.
@EngineInformant27 күн бұрын
Yes most likely you need to replace your dog's and shift forks

Bought one for $500 but both engines needed a rebuild. The hull itself is in great condition and the interior isn’t too bad. Currently Finishing up engines then I’ll replace the wear rings. Hopefully it’ll be good to go after that.
@mrroy70Ай бұрын
And when you're putting the brake motor back on make sure the threads are lined up on the back because if you don't while your tightening the back of the motor will pop off and you'll have to replace it.

I'm about to attempt this job on my '99 and I would like to advise some future viewers that the coolant *can* in fact mix with the oil if the o-ring fails in a particular way. I was wondering why my oil level was mysteriously rising after a change. Thought it was just a small oil leak and was going to ignore it until winter but the lift in the garage is empty now anyway...

Hi everyone, so i thought i had the same problem but after checking that disk seems to be attached perfectly but the sub is still making rattling noice
@EngineInformantАй бұрын
if the speaker is still rattling when removed and the part is still glued intact then the voice coils are damaged and speaker is no good. Buy the aftermarket one in link provided

same scenario, you have a dead component or fuse. You have to check individual modules to see if they have the blinking light to show they are working. Or you touched the bottom left corner and turned the screen off 😆

When i did my sparkplug change at 100k, i changed the plenum gaskets, pcv valve, spark plugs, and coil packs. I broke a tab from a connector and stripped one of the manifold bolts once i was putting everything back together.

hey, quick question (hoping youre still around) but ive got a 5pw r1 from 2003. im gonna get the transmission replaced but is there any known way that i can do in the replacement process ro completely eliminate this issue from arising ever again? such as crafting with different materials?
@EngineInformant2 ай бұрын
I was once told that in 03 the metal gear were made of a tougher steel. I don't know how else you could prevent this with the exception of no clutch wheelies, not clutch less shifting and using good additives in your oil for trans. Regardless you should get 25-30k miles out of one.
